Publisher's Summary

Saving the world is such a bother when it makes you late for tea.

Wizard Lily Singer is kept busy managing library archives, studying magic, and trying to keep her witch friend Sebastian from dragging her into trouble. Unfortunately, he loves adventure even more than she loves being left alone.

She doesn't want to investigate a malignant spell in a haunted house, but Sebastian is promising rare books as the reward. She also doesn't want to hurt her family but is tired of being lied to about her past. And she definitely doesn't want to get stuck in a dangerously unstable time loop, but Sebastian is in trouble - again....

Strangling her friend, as satisfying as it would be, won't fix her problems. If she wants answers and to not miss tea, she had best find the right spell for the job - before everything goes to hell and takes them all with it.

Snarky and fun!

I simply love it! And 10 min after the first book finished, I had downloaded book number 2. And now 10 min after that one I have just started book number 3. I’m simply unable to stop! They are funny, detailed, have an entertaining plot, and the narrator does an amazing job!

Wizards & Witches--it's not the gender, but skillz

This book is described as Harry Potter for adults. Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main character, yeah, she's a wizard, not a witch. It reminds me of the book Equal Rites, with the first female wizard by Terry Pratchett. The adventure is more Harry Potter style, and while fun, I wish it had just a little more humor. Her sidekick, is a man who's a witch. The concept is wizards are both with magic, and witches use spell books to do magic, but it's not innate. This book was like a micro series, with a few different story lines going on and not one full arc. It was a lot of fun, the narrator was fantastic, and I will be checking out the next book.

Great Audio of Great Book

This was my second time “reading” this book. I loved Amy McFadden’s narration. It really brought Lydia’s book to life and also helped give more insight into the characters and story. Loved this!

Surprisingly good!

I had just come off a very emotional ride in the last book I read, so l was looking for a fluff piece so my emotions could settle down. It has delivered in that aspect, but it is more to. Very funny interesting stories. I highly recommend it.

Light, Fun, Escapism

If you're looking for a fun read to get away from it all, then this is a viable option. The two main characters balance each other really nicely and have a relationship that has been fun to watch develop. The plot is predictable from time to time but it's still quite fun and entertaining. I enjoyed the book enough that before I had finished the first I had already purchased the next two in the series. I suppose there isn't much higher praise than that. The narrator, Amy McFadden, did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life with their own, consistently applied, voices and speaking styles. I was glad to see she was reading the whole series.

Wonderful book for all ages!

This was a great book with developed characters and ideas. The take on Magic was very different and neat. I highly recommend you give this a try.

Needs a better Narrator.

She has good voices, but she enunciates too much for my taste. I should have paid attention to the name of the narrator before wasting a credit.

Boring

Narrator was good, but the story just didn't grab me. I kept coming out and didn't even realise. I tried a few times but only made it 1hr into the story

3 stories in one.

This is actually 3 different stories that blend as one story. Love - We're introduced friends to Lily whose a wizard & Sebastian whose a witch. Sebastian drags Lily into helping him with a ghost who is stuck after being cursed by a jilted love. Lies - Sebastian is on the hunt for a stolen object by an old 'friend' who hangs with some shady people. Hocus Pocus - Once again Lily is drag into helping Sebastian look for a lost item that is causing them to be stuck in a time loop. Its a fun listen with small little adventures.
