The mark should have killed me. Instead, it made me a target.

My magic has always caused problems. They call it death’s kiss. The witches avoid me. The fae despise me. Mages plot behind my back. Demons think we’re kindred. And the local pack? They can’t decide whether I’m a threat to contain or a problem to eliminate.

I put my reputation to use—hunting rogue supernaturals, retrieving cursed relics, and taking the dangerous jobs no one else will touch. My magic’s unpredictable, my clients are shady, and the werewolf Alpha I keep offending can’t decide whether to kill me or protect me.

Then there’s Mephisto. Powerful, calculating, and far too intrigued by my magic to be trusted. I can’t tell if he’s my employer, my enemy, or something far more complicated.

Everything changed the night I went through fire—literally. I should have died. Instead, I came out branded with a raven.

Marked by death. Bound to power. Hunted by something darker than both.

Now the wrong eyes are on me, and every one of them carries the promise of ruin. And the men who could help me may be just as dangerous as what’s coming.

I bear the mark of the raven for a reason. I just need to survive long enough to learn why.

Perfect for listeners who love dark urban fantasy with dangerous magic, morally gray characters, and slow-burn romantic tension.

This story is flirty and complex! I am looking g forward to the next book! I want to know the answer to Mephisto's question. i am looking forward to the journey! I enjoyed the complicity of the main character. I am eager to learn more about Erin and the history of her magic.

I loved listening to this book, the characters and story are great. I listen when I drive to work and it was so freaking hard to get out of my car each morning.
The MC has a unique ability and this book definitely stands out in my extensive Urban Fantasy library.
Looking forward to seeing the characters grow and the story continue. Going to start book 2 right now!

I honestly don't even want to write this review because I just want to jump right into book 2!! I couldn't put it down. I love the fact that I'm still not sure where I stand with Mephesto, Kerrin, Asher, anyone in Erin's life. They all seem to have different motives and I'm trying to find who is genuine. I absolutely love the was this author writes characters. You definitely feel like they are in your lives and form an emotional attachment to them. There is no filler or unnecessary dialog, just one amazing story!
Plus this Narrator really did a great job especially on the male voices! I highly recommend

I don't think she is a sociopath, maybe sociopathic tendency or more likely a personality disorder. I was really irritated that she told her 'sister' about the blood moon but didn't want her to get involved. If she doesn't want her nosey friends to get involved then she shouldn't tell them. Overall, I like her as a main character. She is quick to lie, steal, and maim but draws the line at breaking a promise to her 'sister'? That seems kinda silly to me.

Entertaining

I have been a fan of McKenzie Hunter for a while now so when I heard she had a new series and Khristine Vham was going to narrate I squealed in delight.

The story is original and the world building is done in a way that makes the first book exciting while still giving you the information you need. I enjoy the characters and the depth she has given them already and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Omg I can’t wait to listen to book two
