welcome to the CIA of the astarties.

The book was awesome and followed a large cast of characters in an almost seeming pulp fiction style that all ties together and the ways you would not expect. 10 out of 10 would read again.

loved to read it, loved to hear it

This particular entry in the horus heresy series apart from the first 4 books of the beginning of this series had me enthralled from the very first chapter! It took a few books to get me to be interested in other legions like the Imperial Fists or Death Guard but only one book for me to instantly spark my interest in the Alpha Legion, THIS book. The story itself was a fresh take, the reader was easy to follow and the 11+ hours it took to listen to this audiobook seemed almost to go by faster than the previous books! That's not to say it was a bad thing or a short book, no that's just a realization that this book had my interest from the very start. My favorite book thus far by Dan Abnett.

top notch

Was everything I hoped for and so much more. having the perspective be at the human/frontline soldier level was great. truly got to see the full scope of the AL and the pragmatism that defines them.

Another great Dan Abnett book

The book is necessarily cryptic, but maybe a bit too much at times. i found myself wondering why certain factions were seemingly missing at key points and there didn't seem to be enough explanation other than they were busy with espionage. Otherwise, it was a typically great story by Dan Abnett, my favorite Warhammer author and performed fairly well. The performer is clear but volume did vary a bit.

Best Horus Heresy Book

No other book in the Horus Heresy series has kept me on the edge of my seat as much as this one. I finished the whole book in 2 days because I needed to see how the story wrapped up. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Best HH Novel Yet

I’ve only read/listened through 11 of the HH books so far, but Legion was the best by far. Intriguing and kept me wanting to listen.

Bit slow but worth it.

The first few chapters are definitely slow. But each following chapter becomes more and more fast paced until a massive crescendo. The alpha legion is my favorite of the space marine legions and they are represented as essentially a secret military of the imperium. Secrets upon secrets. Plans upon plans. Spies that spy on other spies. It is a must read. It is brilliantly written nothing is wasted and everything brought up ever in the book has a satisfactory conclusion.

Another good addition

I can't comprehend why people were confused with this story. Well done and good voice acting compared to the last. While Loken is still the main character in my mind, it's nice to see background to what's going on , outside the "main" characters
