Publisher's summary

Everything happens in its time.

For Jeffrey Oakes, life in the seventeenth century hasn't been the thrilling change of pace he hoped it would be. The lack of power tools, better hygiene, and cold beer has him yearning for the luxuries of his modern-day life. It might all be bearable if he had someone to maneuver the cultural differences and minimal conveniences with-someone with whom he could make a life. But among the Scottish countryside, with women so different from himself, he knows his chances of finding such a woman are small. If only Morna could work her magic for him like she has done for so many others.

Kathleen Carter's life is changing. With enough money now saved to fulfill her dream of restoring the castle she inherited, her job as housemaid is coming to an end. All she wants now is for moving day to arrive so that she can get to Scotland. She knows she'll have no time for much of a personal life for the next few years, but that's okay. The ruined castle will take all of the love and attention she has to give. Or so she thinks. Little does she know that a move isn't the only big change life has in store for her and that perhaps her dreams might include more than devoting her life to a big, empty castle.

Loved the story and the narration!

Having read the book I was asked to give my honest opinion on the audible version. I must say I love the way the characters are bought to life with the narrators voice. Love how she does Coop.

This book had just the right amount of story, love, romance, problems, family, and of course time travel.

It's always interesting to me to compare how I visualize the book as I read it to the images I see as it is read. I'm beginning to believe I may like the audible versions better.

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series and listening to the next book released as an audible book.

Jeffrey Oakes' Chance of True Love

In Due Time is Jeffrey Oakes' story. Jeffrey has stayed in the 17th century for his adopted son Cooper. For a 20th century man, finding a woman to spend his life with is difficult especially among the 17th century women who prefer the sword welding Highlanders.

When Jeffrey returned to the 20th century with Cooper to visit Cooper's grandparents and Jane Mitchell, he meets Kathleen Carter. As usual, there is a bit of decision making on Jeffrey's part of being noble. This causes friction between Jeff and Kathleen's relationship. Of course with Morn's intervention, Jeff and Kathleen do find their HEA ending.

In Due Time is a short story that is straight forward romance without villains causing the drift between characters or threatening the characters to achieve their means. What the readers might question is that since most of the characters are traveling back and forth in time, it wouldn't be much of a conflict of being separate. In due reality, when Cooper becomes a teenager, Jeffrey and Kathleen would be able to stay in the present. I'm getting a head of myself to make an assumption of a possible storyline.

The narrator, Lily Collingwood does another great performance. Instead of delivering the Scottish accent, she provide the American accent for main characters, Jeff, Cooper, Kathleen, and Jane in this story.

I was given this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

Addicted to this series

I can never get enough of the Morna's Legacy series. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella just as much as the other books in this series. Cooper is quite the rascal, isn't he? He made the book really fun for me. Of course, It was wonderful seeing Jeffrey and Kathleen fall in love.

Great Series!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this book is part of the Morna’s Legacy series written by Bethany Claire and narrated by Lily Collingwood. This book can be listened to in one sitting if you have the time, once I started listening to it I didn’t want to put it down until the end. Jeffrey Oakes, life in the seventeenth century hasn’t been the thrilling change of pace he hoped it would be. He decides to take Cooper to visit his Aunt and grandparents in the twenty first century. Kathleen Carter has now enough money to fulfill her dream of restoring the castle she inherited. When Jeffrey and Kathleen meet it is love at first sight.

The narrator Lily Collingwood did a great job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

It's Jeffrey's Turn

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely - I have loved this entire series as I read it but listening to it really adds a lot to the stories. Lily Collingwood does an amazing job of making Bethany Claire's characters come to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Jeffrey and Kathleen but the star of this book is young Cooper. He is a wise old soul in a small boy's body. He is so thoughtful and caring about the adults around him and he is always looking for ways to help everyone find a Happily Ever After

Have you listened to any of Lily Collingwood’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Lily Collingowood does an amazing job with all of Bethany Claire's books. He narration brings the characters to life

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Jeffrey confided to Cooper about his plan to try to make Kathleen fall in love with him and decide to stay

Any additional comments?

My one complaint about this story is that it was only a novella not a full length story - I would have liked to hear/read more. This series has been about modern day women finding love in the past but Jeffrey has been in the background as a good friend and father and I am glad to see that he finally has found someone to love him.

Finally Jeffrey's Turn

I was hoping Jeffrey would find love in this series. I was excited to see that Bethany's next book was for Jeffrey. I love Cooper and Jeffrey's relationship. I enjoyed all of the books in this series but this one is at the top of my list of favorites. The audio version makes it so much more entertaining and alive. The narrator does an incredible job with each personality.

a novella in the legacy

Jeffrey and Kathleen meet when he brings Cooper yo see Cooper's present day family. This, as a result of his living in 1647 leads to misunderstandings and when she goes to Scotland she meets up with him again but under different circumstances.
A good addition to the collection that helps build the story line more.
