Publisher's summary

How far would you go to find true love? A modern day vet travels hundreds of years into the past to find hers.

Darcy Greenway has no time for love. As a dedicated veterinarian her career and her patients come first. But since the death of her parents she's been running, searching. She just doesn't know what for.

On a much-needed vacation to Scotland, she walks under a natural archway on the shore of a loch and finds herself catapulted into the 16th century...and right into the middle of a clan war.

Stranded in a world of danger and passion, Darcy finds herself drawn to Quinn MacFarlane, the brave Scottish warrior who swears to protect her. But Quinn has secrets of his own. Haunted by his failure to save his brother, his vow might be the very thing that keeps them apart. Because he'll protect her from everyone - even himself.

With enemies closing in, Darcy must make a choice. Should she return home or should she risk her heart on her dream of a Highlander?

Contains mature themes.

Time travel romance.

Pretty cute time travel with the lady from the future and the male from the past. This was a free listen in the Plus Club and I enjoyed it enough to continue with the series for a credit.

Entertaining

I can suspend disbelief for the time travel but then I expect the protagonist to behave like a normal person. No, she doesn't.
Some of the dialogue was off putting. Still overall a pleasant few hours with a gifted narrator.

Story great - narrator not so much.

I loved the story and the characters. But the narrator makes all the female voices sound snarky.

Time Travel

Darcy is a veterinarian whose hectic life is filled only with her work. Promising a friend she would take a vacation, she follows a speaking engagement in Edinburgh with a few days off to visit Scotland. In the Scottish countryside she walks through an arch and is transported 500 years back in time. She’s rescued by a highlander and they strike up a friendship which blossoms into a romance. I enjoyed their story as well as the secondary characters.
Time travel has become a popular theme thanks to the Outlander series. This is a shorter book but the first in the series, An Arch Through Time. The characters are interesting and the story held my attention.
I had to deduct a star from the narrator because he didn’t use an English accent for Lily, a woman from England, even though her accent was mentioned in the book’s dialogue.

Nice time travel romance

Love historical romance with time travel involved. This was a nice book. Easy read not many twists, but some dragging of the romance between the MC.

Lighthearted and simple

If you’re in the mood for something cheerful and that will satisfy your time travel romance urges, this book is worth listening to. I will warn you that there’s not a lot of depth to the plot or the characters, so you won’t be gripping your chair in suspense. However, it’s a great read and I love Antony Ferguson’s narration. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Antony Ferguson is one of my favorite narrators and never fails to amaze.
I hope the next 2 books are just as good.

Good time

Good plot along the lines of Outlander - Scotland and time travel. Quinn is your typical highlander hero: tall, handsome, muscled, and nice when he’s not fighting. Darcy is your typical 21st century woman - independent, well educated, opinionated as well as beautiful. When they meet and get to know each other they are drawn to each other. Also, I love Anthony Ferguson’s work. This book is very good.
