Publisher's summary

Briggs,

Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn't know was that I was breaking mine too.

I thought they'd be enough - my husband and my son. That I'd get home and everything would go back to the way it was...before the war. Before the ambush. Before you. But, no matter how hard I try, I can't erase the trauma we shared. I can't seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours. The truth is, I'm lost without you.

I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I'd face at home.

I know it's selfish of me to ask, but, please, I have to see you one last time....

All my love,
Scottie

The female narrator was terrible

The female narrator was terrible, but the story was heartbreakingly deep. Really Love this author.

AMAZING

This is my first Heather Orgeron novel but my hundredth with Kate Stewart. Kate never disappoints with the magic she brings between her characters. I will be looking into more of Heather Orgeron's books for future reads. I loved this storyline, I loved the ending and everything in between. A must-read ❤️❤️

Amazing book- not my fav narrators

Loved the story SO MUCH! Wish Joe and Maxine would have narrated. Not a fan of the female narrator- she lacked emotion :(
Still loved the book so much- powerful!

Emotional Damage

Heavy heavy story. I cried 20+ times. Narration wasn’t the best I’ve heard, but still a good experience! Wow this was a great story. Broke my heart so many times.

Rollercoaster

I had no idea which way this story would end the entire read which kept my interest. i never knew who I was rooting for since it changed constantly. There is something so heart wrenching about closure and this book captured it perfectly.

such a great story

Great book has all the feels and there isn't a bunch of repeating like so many do. the narrators were average and is wasn't great that the same guy dud both male voices. But the 3 POV was what made it so great 👍

‼️Make sure to check trigger warnings

This story is so heartbreakingly beautiful. I love a good military romance, and this one did not disappoint. I felt every single emotion while listening to this, I laughed, I got angry, and I cried, and I enjoyed every single moment of it. I felt so deeply for every single character, and even though there’s some not so pretty parts, I think it ended just like it was supposed to. The narrators did such an amazing job bring the characters to life, and portraying the emotions of the characters so beautifully. I would recommend going in blind. Highly recommend.
