Clark Griswold was onto something...at least with his annual holiday meltdown. But those boys did absolutely nothing to offset the shock or temper the sting of seeing my EX on our doorstep the first day of our holiday soiree.

Stuck for a week with the man who obliterated my heart nearly two decades ago, I did the only thing I could do and put on my game face, thankful for the home advantage.

I knew better than to drink that last cup of eggnog. I knew better than to get tongue tangled beneath the mistletoe with the only man to ever break my heart. I knew better than to sleep with Satan’s wingman on the eve of the Lord’s birthday.

I could blame the nog. I could blame the deceitful light blue eyes, thick, angelic hair, and panty evaporating smirk…but mostly, I blame Eli because he always knew exactly which of my buttons to push.

I foolishly thought a family Christmas filled with nostalgia was going to turn my inner Scrooge around, but this year’s festivities went up in flames. Leave it to the ghost of my Christmas past to be the one to light the match.

this was such a cute story. I swear, Kate is one of my favorite authors. I love that her books are duet narrations. I love how she uses humor and how realistic her stories are. this one is so cute and genuine. omg, the lemon pledge cleaner. I haven't laughed that hard out loud at a book, ever. this is worth a credit. I love that she includes so many things from the Ravenwood in her books. I love that Sean made a cameo. he is one of my favorite characters of hers. Sean, Dom and Easton Crowne. I'm glad this was based in Triple Falls too. highly recommend.

Perfect holiday book

Such a great read! I loved this holiday book! The characters were great. That dual narration was perfect.

All the stars

very the family stone. Whitney is home for the holidays and her brother brings home his bff and work colleague. Little does he know, Eli, is actually Whitney’s ex-college love.

Perfection. Second chance. Late 30s. With a special raven visitor in chapter 25. Even better on audio. Kate Stewart is an auto buy. Joe Arden’s performance is A+ and Maxine is perfection.

Great story

I thought this was going to be a light hearted fun seasonal story. I decided to listen to it without reading the blurb first. Still have read it. I was wrong. This story made me emotional and I cried several times. It was full of family love mixed with tragedy. I loved it. I also loved how it had connections to The Ravenhood series by Kate Stewart as well. If you want a story that will tug at your heart strings, this one will do it. And as always, the narrators aced it.

perfect Christmas rom com

This story is a comfort read for the holidays. Humor, family, love and a little spice throw in.

Great, but…

Pros: the cast of characters were amazing! The story around the central story was fantastic! Loved the family and their issues/world.

Cons: I wasn’t expecting it to go crazy with spice. It honestly took me out of the story which had been excellent. Also, a I felt the MMC was at times toxic. I don’t know. Sometimes he crossed the line with what he said and what his expectations were. It’s been SEVENTEEN YEARS. You can’t have expectations at that point. You deserve to suffer, my dude.

Everything about this book is perfect for Christmas.

Daddy Joe and Maxine killed it AGAIN. I love this duo. obsessed with Kates books. hlshe knows how to jeep you reading and on the edge of your seats. chapter 25. is chefs kiss for sure. Thank you Kate.

Such a good book! The narrators were amazing and perfect! This book checks so many boxes, romance, humor, plot, a little spice, and a little emotional. I will definitely listen to this again!

Cute story for the holidays!

I loved the story and it was a perfect book for the Holidays. Performance was great too. I haven’t listened to a book with two narrators before!

The love between characters

What a great story. True love and good bad and ugly about families and love around the holiday. Definitely going to be a re read every year.
