Publisher's summary

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Siobhan Davis comes an emotional, angsty new adult romance duet about a woman torn between two great loves.

We thought we were forever, but fate had other plans…

I never intended to fall in love.

This girl had goals and guys were an unwelcome distraction.

Until I met Garrick, my sophomore year of college, and he blasted through the walls I kept around my heart, tearing them down.

He knew what he wanted, and he wanted me.

Falling hard and fast, I experienced the rollercoaster highs and lows of first love.

Until life threw us a curveball, and everything flipped overnight.

Stuck in a limbo state, I was falling apart while trying to be strong for my boyfriend.

Then he entered my life. The hot, slightly older guy who looked like a cross between a tatted biker and a billionaire businessman.

Beck understood me, and our situation, in a way no one else could.

As a friend, he held me together and helped to piece back the shredded fragments of my heart.

I didn’t mean to fall in love with him—it just happened.

No one understands, least of all me.

Now my heart is split in two, and I don’t know what to do.

Is my first love my one true love? Or do I belong with the man who brought me to life?

Contains Say You're Mine and Say It's Forever. Does not include the bonus content. For fans of friends to lovers, second chance, love triangle, angsty, ugly cry romance. Some scenes may be triggering – check the note at the start of the book.

So so amazing

Ms. Davis gives us two incredible book boyfriends and makes us root for each of them at different times in the book. Have Kleenex by you side, you will need them. Amazing book and narration.

female character was self centered..

oh wow.
Stevie was so self centered.
I did not understand why Garrett put up with her at all.
He deserved so much better .
she never really did anything for any of those guys but wanted it all .
Also Beck was so nice and patient with her and he put up with so much from Stevie .
I really wish both Men found someone better than Stevie.

The One I Want ~ Review

I don't usually get emotional while reading a book, but this one had tears in my eyes. The One I Want is a book about Stevie trying to figure out what she wants in life. This book is told from multiple points of view from Stevie, Garrick, and Beck.

This book is about Stevie. She goes through so much in this book, and I was there for every minute of it. There were some ups and downs, and it was an emotional rollercoaster. I fell hard for these characters. Like I said I had tears on more than one occasion, and I don't get emotional in books very often.

I couldn't put this book down. I was happy when she was happy, mad when she was mad, upset when she was upset. I just had to keep reading to see what happened next. I am so happy with who she ended up with, and I think that was the perfect person for her.

Mixed feelings

As a writer who holds literature in high regard, I didn't stop listening to this audiobook; I never abandon books, I always finish them. While listening, I checked several times if it was indeed written by Siobhan, whose titles I usually adore. I couldn't believe how bored I was. I had never found her work dull before. It felt like more than half of the book was excessively saccharine. This was mainly due to the male character, who seemed somewhat unnaturally constructed. There was little happening, and the psychological descriptions felt too superficial. We don't understand why he is so sweet and she so bitter. Her past doesn't seem a sufficient reason for her to be so withdrawn. However, the second half of the book made me see things differently. A lot started happening, and it seems Siobhan wanted to show something by contrasting their behaviors so starkly. Toxicity, the fact that sometimes everything can be fine in a relationship, but it still isn't right. Ultimately, the main character's journey through her own traumas was incredibly tough, and it's worth getting to know her story, as there's a lot to discover. My only concern is that the first part might be too drawn out for some readers to persist until the book gains its value. Nonetheless, I recommend it.

It will leave you breathless

How does this woman do it. I’ve never read a book of hers that wasn’t 100% epic. I mean she never slacks on the feels, on the angst or the ultimate win. I just can’t get enough of her stories. For one day I wish I could live in her mind just see where all her work comes from. Don’t get me wrong at times I wanna throw my phone/ iPad or other device but she is just amazing in all things books. I can’t get enough. I am always walking away from her reads a different person even if it’s just on the inside where all my feels are in a messy ball. She just never disappoints and neither did she with this either.
Was I epically distressed? Yep. Did I wonder why? Of coarse. Did I read it to the end with tears dripping from my face? A resounding Heck Yeah!!! Would I do it all over again? Ab-so-freakin-lutely!!!!
Do I recommend it to anyone who loves drama and HEAs. Duh!!!!
I’m distraught in all the right ways. As always Siobhan shredded my heart into a billion pieces and then pieced it back together the way she wanted it lol. I mean wow…just wow. I know everyone said it was a tear jerker but dang!!! It’s a sob your heart out kinda read. I was ugly crying at Hardee’s eating my lunch…I’m sure ppl thought I was insane but hey I was at the end and I just couldn’t put it down…until the end. I was at the climax of the book…I mean I still can’t cAtch my breath! She always does this to me. And that’s why she is my all time fav! I read this book as an ARC but I couldn’t get enough so I also listened to it and it a whole new level to actually hear the words out loud than to just read them in your head. It’s a whole new level. I knew a head of time how hot the book gets so I of coarse had my earbuds handy. So much steam, angst, love and passion.

an emotional journey

An emotional journey. At first, this book was hard to get into, fmc was starting to
Drive me mad, but of course I should have known better because Siobhan always has to rip my heart out and tear it into little pieces, especially when listening to this on audio. There were several times i was trying to hold back the tears with their great performances with bring this story to life. This has been a long emotional journey over the course of several years. The relationship building and growth of characters in this book has been phenomenal. Make sure you have your tissue s you will need it.

Wonderful Soulmates

Siobhan Davis is a rockstar!

This is the first book that I have read by Siobhan, it but will not be my last. The One I Want deserves more than 5-stars and will probably be my favorite read of 2023.

Stevie has to face so many heart breaking things during her young life. You will always have your first love, but it doesn't mean that person is your soulmate. The One I Want will tear your heart out multiple times, but it will be put together whole by the end.

Great story

This was a great story. There were a lot of twists and turns and that kept my attention. The relationship were great and the characters were well developed. The one complaint is Garrick is rich enough to have an electric wheelchair. That really threw me, but I would still recommend the book.
