Publisher's Summary

Massive world tours. Over a hundred million albums sold. Groupies galore. Every day is a party for Viper and the guys of TBD, the biggest rock band in the world. But it all comes to a screeching halt when the lead singer walks out of the studio one day and never comes back.

Ear-blistering vocals. Butchered lyrics. Fame chasers. After months of lackluster auditions, Viper, the lead guitarist and resident bad boy of the group, is ready to find solace in the bottom of a bottle. Time’s running out, and the pressure’s on to find a new singer, but it isn’t until an angel walks through the door that the band’s prayers are answered. Charismatic. Talented. Magic behind the mic. Halo is everything they’ve been looking for. With a voice to match his stunning good looks, it isn’t long before Viper’s taking notice.

But there are several reasons this is a bad idea:

  1. Interpersonal relationships in the band are discouraged
  2. Viper has already broken rule #1 - big mistake
  3. Halo is straight

Too bad Viper’s body isn’t listening to his head - at least not the one on his shoulders. But you can’t fake chemistry, not onstage and certainly not off it, and Viper and Halo? They have it in spades.

As both men try to resist the fire blazing between them, and the band is forced to reinvent themselves, it’ll be a complicated rise back to the top. But from the ashes of what was, something beautiful is born. Something better. And when the world finally sees Halo stretch his wings, they’ll discover what it’s like to fall for an angel.

Love me a rockstar romance

This book was so good! Very well written. Story line was good. I like that it didn't seem like a cheap/poorly written romance. I love the build up of the romance between the two characters. Sadly, it finished too quickly. I was so into it, that 7 plus hours went by quickly. Can't wait four book 2! Definitely recommend! Narrator was awesome. please don't change that in the second book

HOTTTT, great BEGINNING to a story

First of all, I really enjoyed this book. There was so much sexual tension and it was really hot. It was a great story with great narration...
BUT...
There was a whole lot of background noise going on for some reason...I eventually got used to it, but it was aggravating at first. Not sure what was going on with that....
While I really enjoyed this book, it did not fee like it was a complete story. I see that it is a series, so I am really hoping that the next book is a continuation of the relationship between Halo and Viper and not just jumping into another bandmate. The book was over before I knew it and it didn't feel like it was almost 7.5 hours. There really was little angst and I felt like there was the potential for much more. I will definitely get the next book in the series when it is available, but just as I said before, I hope we can see more of what happens with them.

Be careful who you trust, the devil was once an angel

I first read and enjoyed HALO when it came out in e-book format . And when heard, it was coming out as an audiobook , I began "hoarding "my credits 😳😜😁LOL -if you're addicted to audiobook books , like I am, you'll understand what I mean 😬- so , I could get it , as soon as it came out.

Happy to say, it surpassed my expectations ! Charlie David narration brought Viper and Halo to life. His performance match what I imagined them to sound like.

HALO is a great story with a fantastic narration.

Yes, totally worth my audio credit. 😁😊☺ Live, Love and Listen to audiobook🎧 😃☺

Love this series

The best way to tell you about this story is to say that as soon as I finished the first book I bought the 2nd and started listening to it. And as soon as I finished the 2nd I bought the 3rd and started listening to it. And if there were any more in Audible I would have started listening to them right away, too. Loved the story, loved the characters, loved the heat and loved the narration.
At the risk of objectifying the narrator, Charlie David could turn me on reading a phone book.

Good

I liked the characters and story. Loved the narration. There were several scenes that felt more like man/woman than man/man interactions to me. Despite that minor annoyance, I really enjoyed the story.

Series off to a fantastic start!

Brooke and Ella have done it again! I've read this book a couple of times and listened once (so far) and have to say that I love everything about it! Let's start with Halo and Viper, we really get into their heads and it is fun to see the inner workings of a band. Watching these two sexy guys grow and learn about each other and themselves is intoxicating. Charlie David, man, what can I say, I adore his voice and he does a great job of distinguishing between the two main characters as well as the rest. Viper has a lower growly voice that fits him perfectly. As with most rocker romances, the one thing I miss is the music. Brooke and Ella do such a great job of describing the songs I can just about hear them in my head. I would go see Fallen Angel in a hot second.

Mediocre

I really love Ella Frank's books. Both the Temtation series and The Confession series are amazing. But when she writes with Broke Blane she loses the sting. Although they choose to write the story entirely from the two characters' angles, I still do not fully understand their inner monologue. The story lacks the longing for one another, which means that one dosn´t believes that they become madly in love and attracted to each other. Here is also far too little surrounding and background history for you to care. The sex scenes are not sexy and exploratory but are far too tame written and more or less written after some template without feeling. No sorry. Can't recommend.

Omg Halo is amazing.

Halo is a musical genius. He tries out for TBD and gets in as lead singer. Viper knows after one look at Halo he won't be able to keepi his hands off and says so up front. The natural attraction between them wins out eventually and t there is some hot moments. The band loves him but things don't play out as they want so they really have to work hard to get the fans support back. This is book one and it makes you need to read book 2 immediately.Charlie David is a wonderful narrator for this.

Um what???

Let me start by saying that adore Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine.
The other series they wrote is one of my top re-read list that being said,
this book that I wanted to love fell flat for me.
I got it on audio so I can listen while I tackle a huge Christmas craft project, I often do this.
I just couldn't get invested in the characters. Halo came off like priest when asked to sing the filthy song. They are a rock band. While Charlie David was okay I think his monotone voice killed it for me. While I enjoyed him in other narrations this one might have been to much.
Just remember this is only my opinion.

I love Ellla Frank! And now Brooke Blaine too!

Halo was a fantastic character but Viper was the ultimate! Viper’s in your face constant smart mouth antics really sets this book apart. And there’s a lot of heat too!

This book is a must read! Can’t wait for the next books ‘Viper’ and ‘Angel’ come out soon!

Another feather in Ella’s cap after the Temptation series 😉👍👍👍👍👍 Give me more Logan😍😍😍😍

Charlie David and the Authors are fantastic

Highly Recommend the audio for this book.
📖 Book 5 Stars.🌟 💖🔥
🎧 Narration 5 Stars.🌟
Narrated by Charlie David 💖💖
This is fantastic, the narrator is great with the voices. Chemistry between them and obvious attraction. A straight to gay story for Viper and Halo aka Angel. Laugh out loud moments, hidden talents, hot and sexy scenes for a beautiful ending. Written beautifully I fell for them both, I couldn't help laughing heeps in this book. The secondary characters are gorgeous too. I'll be grabbing the next book with audio.
Viper's band needed a new singer and hated mornings, yah he had an attitude with his name.
Halo 23 was the new audition singer and was nervous as hell. Star struck he didn't believe he was here in the studio. He was straight and had a new nickname Angel from Viper.
