Publisher's Summary

“Our greatest hit is a love song I wrote for my bandmate. And he has no idea.”

Messy-haired, soulful-eyed, off-kilter lyricist Les Graves holds tight to the hedonist’s credo of consumption in every avenue of life. He has trouble staying still, trouble staying sober, trouble turning down a good time - but put a pen in his hand, and he’ll set a page on fire.

Music was Evan Porter’s ticket out of the backwater mud puddle he was born in, the passion keeping him warm as he busked on street corners. Every chord, every song, every ounce of sweat has been devoted to making Porter & Graves a success. He’s the level-head, the quiet maestro, the seatbelt that keeps Les from flying too far out of control. And he’s getting pretty tired of playing savior.

Their onstage chemistry is electric, offstage it's… complicated.

After Porter & Graves’s third album bombs, the pressure is on for the duo to redeem themselves with their fourth. While sequestered in an East Tennessee cabin to compose, things take a turn for the worse when an event from their past comes back to haunt them in an embarrassingly public fashion and forces them into an unusual position that tests a partnership already hanging by its bloody roots.

Can Evan and Les find harmony or will they - and their music career - go down in flames?

Dedicated, the first standalone in the Rhythm of Love series, is a steamy, bisexual friends-to-lovers romance featuring semi-kinda forced proximity, a fake relationship, angst, snark, a cock-blocking greenhouse, really poor decisions involving social media, and a HEA guarantee.

A rough but satisfying ride

I really loved Les, but I couldn't really connect with Evan. And I loved their story overall, but I thought Evan basically bailed on Les when he hit rock bottom. So while it was a satisfying read, I struggled with some of Evan's behavior, but my love and Les kept me going until the end. Greg Boudreaux did a fantastic job narrating as always.

Beautiful Story

This is a beautiful friends to lovers story that is made even better by the wonderful narration. You have angst, secret crush, romance, hot sex, and great banter. I really enjoy the musical setting and the fact that they are both musicians makes the connection between Les and Evan even stronger. They can really understand each other in a way others can't. The narrator did a great job portraying this story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

A story about music and love with fab narration

Dedicated is the first audiobook from Neve Wilder, and it's a story that translates well into this format. Narrated by one of my favorite voice-overs, Greg Boudreaux, this M/M romance is the story of two friends and band mates, Les Graves and Evan Porter. There's no denying how gifted Les and Evan are as musicians and songwriters, but after two successful albums, the third one turns out to be a miserable failure. Forcing them to work on songs for what could very well end up being their last album may sound like the solution to their problems, but when a private moment becomes public, faking a relationship seems to be their only sensible move. Will they be able to find their misplaced harmony or will they end up forever out of rhythm?

I've made it pretty much known how much of an angst addict I am, but I seriously have a thing for tension--sexual and otherwise--in the stories that I read, and boy, how this audiobook had that in spades! Neve Wilder did such a fantastic job weaving together a story of two men who become friends and musical partners and then much more. The tension was palpable and there was a whole lot of wonderful chemistry emanating from Les and Evan. Greg Boudreaux managed to surpass my already lofty expectations--as is usually the case when I listen to a book with him as narrator--and truly brought the author's story and characters to a level higher than I could have hoped for. Dedicated is one of my favorite listens of 2019. Five-plus stars! ♥

Bring me more

Friends-to-lovers, a fake relationship and hot musicians secretly in love with each other. This book has it all. Add in a threesome scandal and the picture is (almost) complete. On top of that (pun not intended) you have the marvellous Greg Boudreaux narrating and it’s pure magic. Before I knew it I’d listened to the whole book and that dreaded voice saying “Audible hope you’ve enjoyed this program” echoed in my ears. I mean is there something that’s more annoying – or intrusive to your ears? Okay, so there really is, but still, I hate that sentence at the end of every audio, especially when it’s one I’m enjoying the hell out of.

Anyway, so back to the actual book and everything that’s Les and Evans, bandmates and best of friends. Six months ago they shared a girl and it was the starting point for everything that happened next. The threesome was on page as a flashback so fair warning – there are naked girl parts in this story. But like one of our guys said, she was more of a conduit between them rather than a huge presence. Said encounter is later sold to the media causing a bit of a frenzy so the team behind the band decides that the guys should pretend to be in a relationship – to get the “right” kind of attention.

Things get murky when their mutual attraction rears its head and their fake relationship isn’t fake anymore. They both want more but aren’t sure how to go about it. Les has been longing for Evan since they first met but have been too afraid to do something about it, so he’s been sleeping around – a lot. For Evan it’s a bit newer, but he’s wary of going there with Les as he doesn’t trust that he will be enough for the guy who has a new body in his bed every night. Especially since his libido isn’t set to overdrive – well part for where Les was concerned.

Dedicated is mostly a feel good story. There’s a lot of tension, lust and longing – and sexy moments as well. There might not have been any surprises coming my way, but that didn’t matter. I fell for these guys and was rooting for them to find their happily ever after.

Greg Boudreaux is one of my favourite narrators for a reason. He delivers every time. His performance is always sharp and on point. He gets the characters and the situations they find themselves in. He lives the story with them and makes the listener do the same, by adding feelings to the words and changing the pace and tone to match the situation at hand, be it funny, angsty or sexy. Boudreaux delivers every time. And if I were prone to swooning, his voice alone would have me flat on my back at the first sentence.

This was my first book by Neve Wilder, but it won’t be my last. I’m looking forward to see what will happen next in this series.

Excellent band/musician romance, loved narrator

I always love band/musician books, (been a while since I read a good one, really) and this one is quite the ride!

Les and Evan are bandmates, Les writes the lyrics and Evan writes the music, and they have had a great career over the last few years, at least until their most recent album. At the same time, emotions and feelings are changing and causing conflict between their friendship. Les's go-to is sex, drugs, and alcohol, and it makes for tense situations when Evan is trying to keep their music and working relationship together.

I really enjoyed the mix of what's going on in the present mixed in with the big event that happened six months ago and also with interviews between Les and Evan so you can really see how well they snark, joke, and banter with each other. I just loved their friendship and of course, my heart broke for how much Les wanted Evan.

Also, although it was never really stated I feel like Evan might fall into a demisexual spectrum, with how he viewed sex in his relationships, which I enjoyed. I also appreciated his outlook on keeping his private life private, and then seeing how attracted he was to Les, once he let himself actually go there and want that for himself.

I'll be honest, I'm not so sure I needed allllll the details about Les' sex-capades? Like, there was a threesome - and I get that being a catalyst for everything that's happening in the present, but there was definitely a disconnect for me as a reader/listener in the first half with how long it took them to get together - fake relationship and all.

Greg Tremblay, as always, kills it with his narration. I just love his voices, and his voices for women and how I can always tell who's talking. LOVE the books he narrates!

I received an audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Good Rockstar Romance

I quite enjoyed this Rockstar romance. The rocky relationship between Ethan and Les was entertaining and kept me engaged, waiting to see how it evolves.
The narrator does a great job of voicing these men, bringing them to life.
There was a bit of everything. Angst, fun, drama and sexy times.

Super intense slow-burn friends to lovers!!

Greg Boudreaux did an amazing job narrating this story! He had such a wonderful take on Les and Evan’s voices, brilliantly reflecting Evan’s private, reticent nature in his performance, as well as Les’ almost wild depth of emotion. I especially loved how he managed to bring such vulnerability and heartache to Les’ voice.

The angst-filled longing in this story went to almost crazy heights and the intense slow-burn passion between Evan and Les took my breath away! These two characters tugged on my heartstrings something fierce. The push and pull between was like nothing I’ve read before. Absolutely amazing!

I loved reading about their friendship and how crazily in sync they were, the love that was there all along even if they didn’t yet realize it. Their music is an integral part of who they are, apart and together, and I think the author did a great job bringing that into the story. These are not just token musicians to fit a trope, but the real deal.

The epilogue was super romantic, swoon-worthy yet not sappy, and so deserved after everything they’d gone through.
Recommend this so so much!!!

Music to my ears

Audio
Les and Evan were great! Neve always has the best books and these two with their ridiculous cluelessness about their feelings for each other were no exception. I believe that in most cases good books are even better in audio and Dedicated is one of them. I definitely recommend this audio!

Pitch perfect

I just finished my second time listening to this amazing book and excellent performance and can't believe I didn't leave a review the first time. I'm embarrassed, because I loved the book so much that I read it twice immediately, back to back, and I was foaming at the mouth waiting for the audio after it was announced.
I loved the intensity Greg put into his narration. It felt like listening to an MTV confessional. He brought Neve's bright and beautiful men to life and listening was as much of a gut-wrenching roller coaster as reading was.
I'm an audio neophyte but I loved this book and this performance.

Huge potential

This book started slow and disjointed (the flashbacks should have been together as one prologue or something as it just didn’t work as it is) and I found myself disinterested and distracted. Then, as the book went on, the story got better and better and the second half deserves a much higher rating. It had the potential to be a 4 or 5 star read if it was restructured a bit and there was more of an emotional connection at the start. I’ll definitely look out for more from this author as they have a great writing skill, and the choice of narrator was brilliant.

Captivating

This book gripped me right from the start. Neve is a new to me author but I adore Greb Boudreaux’s work so I grabbed it and I wasn’t disappointed at all. No only was the narration amazing but the story was great too!! I was so happy to see them get their HEA but I also didn’t want it to be over!

My first Neve Wilder, but definitely not my last!

All the way through listeneing to this book, I caught myself thinking "blow mw, this is great". Greg Boudreaux is one of my favourite narrators. His style is so flowing and natural that I forget I'm listening to a book and just get totally immersed, as long as the story is engaging enough. And OMG is this one engaging. The story is glorious. I love friend to lover as a trope and this one is so well crafted. Les' whole life has been built around his unrequited feelings, but in such a believable way. The supporting cast are great and I'm looking forward to getting to their stories. I wish I could hear the music, the lyrics are gorgeous. A totally satisfying listen that has gone in to my 'relisten' pile.

Entertaining!

Greg Boudreaux is one of my favorite narrators and one of the reasons why is because he can pretty much capture the essence of any character and make them different in every book I've listened to by him even if the voices are similar. I loved his characterizations of Evan and Les, even if I didn't like everything about this book.

The interviews and little tidbits at the start of some of the chapters were great. They were fun and told a lot about Evan and Les's personalities.

I liked Evan and Les. I found Les's interest and longtime crush on Evan, a whole lot more believable than Evan's. Maybe because Les was a playboy whereas Evan was demisexual? I don't know, it was just difficult to believe Evan's attraction in some instances. *shrugs* Still, their relationship got better as the book advanced, so there's that.

I'm not particularly fond of graphic or semi-graphic sex scenes with other characters that aren't the MCs, so yeah, you can say that didn't work for me. Neither did the flashbacks of the first time Les and Evan were together, maybe if it hadn't been cut into a million pieces until we got all the scene, but then again maybe not, I've never been fond of going back and forth between present and past. Plus, the book was overly long, with lots of inner thoughts and it dragged a bit.

So, yeah, while the book was entertaining to listen to, it took me a long time to warm up to the story, Les and Evan were good together and it was lovely (and hot) to see their relationship progress, even if my favorite part of the book was Greg's narration.

Super hot rocker romance, with angst, wit, humor, and soul! A great listen!!!

So much angst and a lot of 'will they or won't they' but its a hell of a ride!! I loved the premise of this book and Neve delivers! Bisexual Les is a rocker on the rock n roll high, or so you think. Les harbors a serious crush on his fellow bandmate and best friend, Evan. I could feel Les's struggles and avoidance strategies so help him cope. I felt his emotions, thoughts, and self-esteem issues and just wanted to give him a hug.

Evan is a serious artist and is somewhat introverted. I loved Neve's approach to Evan's sexuality and that he seemed to be demisexual and needs an emotional connection to have a sexual one. I loved Evan passion and found his seriousness and order so endearing.

The dual points of view created such great angst and insight into each character's thoughts and feelings. It was hard to read at some times as you just want to say "talk to each other!" so they can finally be together!! But once they are together Neve delivers some serious heat!!! Their chemistry is off the charts and Neve has created so serious steam! I've got to say though, even 'once' they are together Neve doesn't let up on the angst and disquiet with an unfortunate turn and some challenging times, it all comes together in the end for a spectacular finish, and oh my its awesome and I look forward to more in this series, hopefully we will get to see more of Evan and Les and if not I hope we see Owen find his HEA 😉 💖!

Greg is such a talented narrator and has done wonders with Les and Evan. I loved it!!

(P.S. Although I must admit I have a favorite narration of Greg's that I regularly re-listen too and I couldn't help but "hear" those characters in the beginning. It took a little while for Ace and Colton (from Love in Spades by Charlie Cochet) to become Les and Evan LOL)

Thanks for reading!

Friends to lovers...

Music brought them together. Band partners who worked together to write music at a cabin. Porter was the responsible one, having to keep up with Les, the happy go lucky and so very slutty one. One night of debauchery will change everything for them. Les has carried a torch forever hoping his friend would look at him different. It’s a fun book to listen to. The narrator has a great voice. Very smooth.

Clever Story, Boudreaux is Fabulous

After hearing so many wonderful things about Neve Wilder’s stories I couldn’t wait to listen to this one narrated by the awesome Greg Boudreaux. The first book in her Rhythm of Love series, Dedicated definitely lives up to the hype.

Ms. Wilder gets deep into these characters and I enjoyed seeing them interact through the drama that comes their way. The sparks between Les and Evan are obvious from the outset, and continued to grow as they face their blooming physical attraction. Without spoiling it for y’all, we get a fabulous happy ending!

I’m not usually a fan of flashbacks, but the way Wilder intersperses them with the present day and the alternating points-of-view is very effective. I can't think of a better way to explain the history in an established relationship.

Greg Boudreaux is always spectacular and gives a wonderful performance in Dedicated. His smokey, southern accent never fails to give me chills and he makes the most of it here.

Porter & Graves - love and music

I read the novel a while ago when it was released and love the format Neve Wilder came up with interspersing the chapters and alternating MC POVs with band interviews with various music magazines/shows, etc. Greg Boudreaux does an excellent job of giving the guys their voices. He is one of my favourite narrator and I was not disappointed with this narration of a good book.
Evan Porter and Les Graves are interesting characters and their music tells the tale of their feelings for each other. It was quite interesting to see them start their relationship as a pretend coupling for press purposes, but as their true feelings start to show through to each other, they face some interesting truths and challenges. Highly recommended Contemporary MM romance.
