What Audible Listeners are saying about Free to Focus
Editorial reviews
We hear a lot about the “attention economy,” with sundry social networks and other cultural phenomena constantly vying for a share of our time. Goal-setting and productivity expert Michael Hyatt is here to tell you we’re actually in the midst of a “distraction economy,” ruled by “the tyranny of the urgent.” In this fast-paced listen, he helps you develop techniques to determine what really matters and is worthy of your attention and effort. Perhaps the best part about Free to Focus: listening to it feels a lot like a “brain-pick” advice session over coffee with an empathetic, relatable, and very knowledgeable friend.
—Courtney R., Audible Editor

Story
As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

Each of us has but one life to live on this earth. What we do with it is our choice. Are we drifting through it as spectators, reacting to our circumstances when necessary and wondering just how we got to this point anyway? Or are we directing it, maximizing the joy and potential of every day, living with a purpose or mission in mind? Too many of us are doing the former - and our lives are slipping away one day at a time. But what if we treated life like the gift that it is? What if we lived each day as though it was part of a bigger picture, a plan?

What you experience is what you remember. The more emotional the experience, the deeper it is branded into your memory. Experience has a massive impact on buying decisions. Every touch point, every time you or someone in your company engages a customer, it creates an experience - something they remember. When they have a negative experience, they tend to vote with their feet (and their wallets) and head straight to your competitors.

A practical guide to feel free
I have read many books on productivity. Michael Hyatt nailed down with this book. Don't need to expend more time looking for tips and tricks in Apps, tools, and books. He gave me a framework to focus on the right things and feel free. If you are looking for tools, he gives you tools, if you are looking for methodology, he gives you one. This is a practical guide for people seeking freedom to do more of what you love. He combines foundational principles and tools in this masterpiece. Period. BTW, he narrates the book with emotions and relevance to key concepts. Thanks, Michael and team.

Actionable & Theoretical
Dave Ramsey hit the ball out of the park again. I love listening to him on Audible as I feel as if he is coaching me personally. His combination of theory and given examples from both his and his clients' lives are great as it makes the challenges he gives us in the book seem surmountable. I am encouraged that before the year is out I will go from being a solopreneur to amassing an amazing team...and feel more free than overwhelmed in so doing! Thanks to Dave and his team for a great resource to which I will return time and time again.

So much to think about!
This book was a breath of fresh air and hope that I can master my tasks and don’t have to kill myself to do it. The tools are great and simple to use, which makes it even better. Likely one I’ll listen to again a few times to refresh on!

Making productivity simple
This book is an excellent collation of years of Michael Hyatt’s personal research and training under the guidance of greats like David Allen, Peter Drucker, Tim Ferriss, Cal Newport and many others. If you don’t have the time to read all the other books out there on productivity, then just read and implement this one. It will change your life as it is changing mine.

A lot of good stuff in it.
This book is full of valuable content and I really loved most of it. Having said that, there are many superfluous chapters and, I dare say, unnecessary advice and guidelines. I also wish the author had found the strength to make it less commercial.
I will rate it 5 stars nevertheless.
