Publisher's Summary

Great leaders are driven to win. Yet career wins can come at great cost to your health, relationships, and personal well-being. Why does it seem impossible to both win at work and succeed at life?

Michael Hyatt knows we can do better because he's seen it in his more than four decades as a successful executive and a loving and present husband and father. Today Michael and his daughter, Megan Hyatt Miller, coach leaders to live the double win. Backed by scholarly research from organizational science and psychology, and illustrated with eye-opening case studies from across the business spectrum and their own coaching clients, Win at Work and Succeed at Life is their manifesto on how you can achieve work-life balance and restore your sanity.

With clarity, humor, and plenty of motivation, Win at Work and Succeed at Life gives you

  • an understanding of the historical and cultural forces that have led to overworking
  • five principles to rethink work and productivity from the ground up
  • simple but proven practices that enable you to slow down and reclaim your life
  • and more

Refuse the false choice of career versus family. You can achieve the double win in life.

It’s ok, but I can’t say great.

If you want to hear that you need to sleep, then this is the book for you. It does have a few good nuggets of advice.

One of Hyatt’s Best!

I’ve been a Michael Hyatt guru for years and while this book contains many of his standard practices, I have to believe it’s one of his best. As a CEO, I want every employer to read and feel the hope Megan and Michael have fought for, lived out, and offered to others as well at Hyatt & Co.

Wonderful read! These principles can change your life!

Another wonderful book by Michael Hyatt and company. Many of us face the challenges of over work, but there is another way. This book will give you the tools you need to find it.

The only issue is it seems the narration is skipping at times throughout the book, almost like it’s skipping ahead. Also, there is a great deal of volume difference between the two authors, so get ready to need to turn the book up or down as you listen.

One of the best business books you’ll ever read

In my opinion, this is one of the top two books on business that exist. The other one on my list is another one of Hyatt’s books “Free to Focus.” This book gives incredibly practical and tactical steps we can take toward achieving the ever-elusive work/life balance. In the words of an ancient proverb, “the best time to plant a tree it’s 20 years ago. The second best time is today.” Well, Win and Work and Succeed at Life will inspire you to plant that tree right now. I can’t wait to listen to this book over and over again.

Work Life Balance is NOT a Myth

If you lead an organisation, do yourself, your family and your company a favour; read this book! I was a CEO for 20 years, listed and multinationals. I've lived this book! Even running 40 countries I can count on one hand the weekends I worked. However when I started my own consulting practice 5 years ago I didn't bring in the constraints, and lost sight of my priorities. This book has been a wonderful reminder to get back into balance.
