Publisher's summary

In her dazzling romantic suspense debut, USA Today best-selling author Suzanne Enoch brings us a thrilling tale about a thief who needs to prove she's no murderer and the millionaire who loves her.

Samantha Jellicoe is a thief and proud of it. Raised to appreciate the finer things in life, Sam has no trouble divesting the wealthy of their treasures. This all changed, however, the night she attempts to steal a valuable item from a Palm Beach estate. Before she knew what hit her, a bomb goes off, a guard is killed, and Sam ends up saving millionaire Richard Addison. She's a good thief and will own up to her jobs, but if anyone thinks to tie her to murder, they better think again.

On any other night, having a one hundred plus pounds of female fling herself at you is a good thing. But on this particular night, Richard Addison is mad as hell. Not only did he just have his gallery blown up - with him about to enter it - but the woman who rescued him didn't stick around to offer any explanations. When the dust settles, Rick knows the only person with answers to his questions is the mystery woman. And if she thinks she can hide from him, she better think again.

Contains mature themes.

Fun romance and mystery

This was so fun! I forgot how good Enoch is as a writer. Her writing just hits for me. I loved both of these characters and I thought the romance was really well developed. I understood why these two liked the other. A sexy art thief who saved the hero's life and a sexy billionaire who won't turn you into the police for trying to steal millions from him. What's not to love in the other? Beyond the circumstances, Sam's chameleon and charismatic nature and Rick's moral core and charm fit well together. Charisma is hard to convey, especially as the main pov character. But I fully bought that people responded to Sam's energy and personality, even when they disapproved of her lifestyle. For once, the hero is the more emotionally stable and mature one and Rick is understanding that Sam can't trust or love as easily as he can. The chemistry was strong, their banter was fun, and their adventures were exciting and hilarious.

I thought the mystery was well-plotted. Sam was never a dummy, always considering different angles and on the lookout for danger. She had an analytical mind and trusted almost no one. The multiple suspects and dead bodies kept you guessing.

I loved the balance of mystery, action, and romance. I'm excited to see how Rick and Sam's HFN becomes an HEA and to watch Sam open up and be vulnerable. I love series dedicated to one couple and I could easily see these two becoming a favorite couple of mine.

The audiobook was also excellent. It's one narrator but she does great voices and really inhabits Sam's character. I had to finish a couple of other audiobooks from the library while I was in the middle of Flirting with Danger and I kept wishing I could listen to this one instead.

Love this book!

I don’t write reviews, but this book deserves the effort. I originally read this book years ago and periodically check to see if it made it to Audible and was very excited to see it here. It’s just as good as I remember and narration was great.

Enjoyed this

I was happily surprised to see Suzanne Enoch writing a contemporary - I had switched genres years ago, but always enjoyed her regency-era novels. This was a fun book. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to their continued story. The narrator’s voice was a little annoying (natural voice) but the characters were fine and easy to distinguish.
