I loved this!

I definitely would love to have more adventures from this merry band of misfits! Snarky, silly and so sweet, this found family had me sucked in after the first five minutes.

Joel is, as usual, wonderful and makes you forget there’s only one person performing the story. He’s such a gift.

Definitely give this a listen!

Fantasy Series

Interesting, but honestly nothing really grabbed me about this one. Granted, it is just a super short introduction.

Fun, fanatical and full of humor.

Where does Rise Of A Wizard rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Well - it's a short piece - but i was definitely engaged. The narration is lively, with great characterization and strong comic skill. The group of misfit magical friends are sassy and fun. It's kind of a Dungeons and Dragons quest tale with a gay twist. I wish the entire story was available in one long form... but I certainly will look out for the next installment.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love the super sassy gay fairy who is still bitter because his parents kicked him out for being too fairy of a fairy. He's shameless and snarky and really fun.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where they have rescued a sexy knight and he finally wakes up is really fun... the characters all respond in really cute ways and the giant character made me laugh out loud.

Any additional comments?

If you like short fantasy and m/m whimsical fiction, you'll enjoy this. It's well written with really endearing characters and the beginning of a quest that lays out a really great foundation for a future story arc.

Short but hilarious

This was a really funny story that constantly made me laugh! Kinda reminded me of "The Lightning-struck Heart" with the wisard, giant and (instead of a unicorn) glittering fairy. Loved the sassy jokes and even if it was so short the story is a great start of the series. Really hope they deside to continue this someday becoise Joel Leasly was just perfect for the roll and I need more!

Good story, Excellent performance

The only negative thing about this book is it was way too short. Although, I must admit, Mr. Leddy packs a lot into it. It definitely made me want to continue the series. I truly hope the next book comes out in audio with Joel Leslie. He is amazing and really brings these characters to life with his performance.
