Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I'm stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who's teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator. To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions, and my attraction to a hotter-than-Satan's-underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous...it's possibly deadly. For real dead.

Permanent death isn't on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I'm his, it's easier said than done. Like that's not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I'm some sort of Chosen One. Holy hell, if I'm in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride.

This book is a paranormal romance, but it is also filled with humor from beginning to end and plenty of hot steamy sex to go with it..With characters such as Brad Pitt,Angelina Jolie and Oprah (not the real people, but same names), this book keeps us laughing while exploring the world of the undead, Vampires vs demons, this book is highly entertaining and addictive, Most importantly, it is fun! I loved the little baby monsters, that called Astrid mommy. The author, Robyn Peterman hit a home run on this book. The narrator, Jessica Almasy did a fantastic job on the delivery of this story, Her voices are unique and explosive. I loved the voice and behavior of the character Pam! I look forward to book 2! Well done.

I received this audio book as a gift so I could read / listen to it and leave a honest and unbiased review,

I have to be in the mood for it, but when I want sassy, trashy urban fantasy, this author delivers. I liked the first two books in her Ready to Were series best, but the first two books in this series are fun too (especially if you get them on sale). This series is sometimes mindless, rather slutty, comically gory, and frequently mouthy (if you can’t handle frequent F bombs, this isn’t for you). It features Astrid, a self-admitted “materialistic Prada wh@re,” insta-love, insta-Mary Sue, and insta-insanity. Seriously, you’d better buckle up buttercup because this is one bonkers ride.

This has the comic, girl-power, physical comedy feel of Pitch Perfect and the overly theatrical, vampires are real and in Portland feel of Twilight ... except in Kentucky and with glitter bombs instead of glittering vampires. I can almost see Anna Kendrick as Astrid here, doing pledge week with a bunch of vampire houses, cooing over baby demons, going WWF on an Arnold Schwarzenegger faerie, and smacking angel Oprah Winfrey in the arm with a WTF! (I did warn you about the bonkers, right?)

Part of the reason for this series’ second place standing with me is the narrator, who grates on me. She narrates 29yr old Astrid like she’s 12, and with shrill, valley girl sass, and Ethan with a constant breathy whisper that I find more creepy than sexy. I have to work to get past it, but after the first hour or so, I feel like I’m immunized and I begin to enjoy the crack-a-lackers, salt in your margarita, style of this book.

Pitch Perfect meets Twilight, but mouthier

Loved the narration of this! She's so on point with all the characters voices. Even though it was a long book I enjoyed the story. It's a cliffhanger though so if that's not your thing, you've been warned.

pretty freaken funny!
