Publisher's Summary

He who seeks power, seeks destruction

Over 1,000 years ago, nearly all the ancient wizards were destroyed after the Wizard Wars. However, the one who started the war still remains, having worked his will in secret. If he can find the last Dragonwand, he will regain his powers as the dark dragon. Unaware of the Dragonwand or the betrayer, 16-year-old Markus is looking for a wizard who will give him a letter of recommendation for the College of Wizardry. During his journey, he stumbles upon Tolen the Wise, who sends Markus on a quest to end the darkness and find the Dragonwand before it gets into the wrong hands. As Markus discovers growing powers and makes allies, will he find what he needs to complete Tolen's task, or will the ancient, dark wizard uncover the Dragonwand and forever change the fate of the land of Gallenor?

Daniel Peyton is a superb writer

This audiobook is a fantastic book that will keep you guessing until the end! I loved the story and how Daniel wove it into a rich textured fabric where the characters brought it to life. Very well done!

Very interesting book

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I think it's best suited for a younger teen audience to young adult. It has a great storyline and character development. My one con is that I felt like it wasn't as mature as it should be for the age of the characters, but everything else was great. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy adventures. Specially thanks author

Austin Freeman delivers a great performance

Great fantasy fiction story with wizards, dragons and magic. The different races of characters and their interactions keep me turning the point. Good trilogy for teens and adults.

This audiobook is a great listen that will have you hanging onto the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end! You will laugh and cry as our adventurers travel on a quest. He ranks up there with Brooks in my opinion. Thanks for the great listen!

I want to listen more

Very quick listen. I felt I didn't need, this was refreshingly empty of excessive description of how many leaves are on each tree. The beginnings of a love story that didn't feel forced or overly teenage-high school age drama like. I love fantasy and often give chances to books just because they are in the genre, this one ended up being worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed each minute I spent listening this audiobook. Look forward to the rest of the series and definitely would recommend this one to friends.

Creative worldbuilding

There are many characters in this story and they all have more than one dimension with dreams, fears, and aspirations. The world is many layered, with structure and imaginative cultures. I liked that there were some genuinely surprising twists in the plot that kept the story moving along swiftly and never allowing it to get stale.
