Her childhood had been a lie. Her father had been a thief. Her mind struggled to absorb these facts, to analyze, to accept. Kate Powell had been orphaned at an early age, when she had, essentially, watched her parents die. Her family had been taken away, but she had been given another. The distant kinship didn't matter to Thomas and Susan Templeton. They had taken her in, raised her as their own, given her a home and love.
Now, 20 years later, she has learned the truth from a colleague of her father. A man who did not realize that the Templetons had gone to great lengths to protect the child from knowledge that would hurt and shame her.
Nice example of Nora's earlier work. I like the diversity of the characters and the storyline is humorous and believable. Worth the listen.

I always enjoy Nora Roberts. Light and easy to hear. The reader did excellent. I will definitely hear the entire series.
This is one of my favourite Nora series. The characters are great, storyline is great, narrator is great. I am looking forward to the last book!
The narrator did the story great justice in her understanding of the characters roles and what the author wanted the reader to get from it truly wonderful
The narrator was much better in this book. Loved the whole story and little twist in it. Nora Roberts is an amazing author.
Excellent narrator gave life to the different characters. The romance was complimented by the mystery. An enjoyable listen.
I enjoyed this series it was great so much that listen to the more than once
I love Nora Roberts and would have enjoyed the story better if the narrator was different. I really don't like her voice and will not complete the series because of it.
Read the book, skip the audio.
