Publisher's Summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a compelling story about love's softening effects on even the most guarded of hearts.

The first time single father Spence Kimball set eyes on Natasha Stanislaski, he was floored by her exotic beauty. But the former ballet dancer turned toy shop owner had a fiery temperament that kept men safely at bay. Sensing a hidden wound, Spence and his little girl joined forces to find a way into her closely guarded heart. For Spence realized he'd do anything to tame Natasha's fears...and show her how to love.

Boring

Very disappointing. Just boring. Not typical Nora Roberts quality. Simple romance but no plot to speak of.

Awful Narrator

I love All things Nora Roberts and enjoyed the story. BUT the narrator made the heroine sound like an old vampire movie! Her Russian accent was awful, just not realistic at all.

It's Nora Roberts

I enjoyed the book... I almost gave it a four star but really not one of her best. Basic storyline with a few twists but really basic stuff.

It did take me awhile to get passed the narrators attempt at a Russian accent but it grew on me.

If your looking for a quick no brainer listen, this will work for you.

Terrific beginning to the Stanislaskis Family series. I fell in love with all the characters.

Having read this story multiple times through the years, it was refreshing to hear it through Audible. The accents were terrific and apart from a couple voice mistakes, terrific.

I've always like the characters and this time it was no different. Although this was written in the 80's it continues to be relevant today.

Russian no, Ukrainian accent is authentic

Where does Taming Natasha rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The audio version is better than most audio books and especially dealing with accents. The book came alive with the performance of the narrator. I was especially glad the same voice artist performed the other books in this series!

What other book might you compare Taming Natasha to and why?

I am a Nora Roberts fan (big time)... and have listened to many but the Stanislaski family comes alive and more authentic with this performer.

Which scene was your favorite?

Meeting the love interest in the toy store for the first time. The narrator brought more firey emotion to the character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Natasha told the story about her infant dying.

Any additional comments?

Lovely story as are all of the Stanislaski series!

Meh!

So when a narrator can't do a male voice it can make or break the story. Christina Traisters female voices were just ok in this book but the male lead sounded slow and dim witted. That, my friends can ruin a story in a hurry. This story itself was slow and it was hard at times to keep my attention. Sorry, but I'd skip this one. Use your credit on any Susan Elizabeth Phillips "Chicago Stars" series book and you'll understand what I'm saying about GREAT narration making a book come to life!

Gentle love story

A good story and much more emotional than I was expecting, having already listened to the 3rd book of the series.
The story broached some tender topics very sensitively, a real, feel good, easy listening book.
Beautifully narrated definitely 6☆ stars if I could give it for her performance
