The story is predictable and might have been entertaining with a different narrator. Mr. Daniels read this love story like it was a western.

Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Luke Daniels?

I have several audios by Nora Roberts, but I won't listen to anything else by Luke Daniels again, unless it's a gumshoe mystery or a western.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His voice for Rafe sounded like Clint Eastwood, it just did not work for the story. I have this book in Kindle form and enjoy it. I can't listen to this guy with a straight face, his narration ruins the story.

Don't let the audio steer you away from the print version of this series. The books are fun, but this narrator is the wrong choice for these books.

Ed. He did Ed really well. I kind of wish there had been more scenes with her.

Story is good not NR's best but the caracters are great. Sadly the narator did a poor job of it.

What would have made The Return of Rafe MacKade better?

If I wanted to hear John Wayne the entire time...I would watch a western. I really like Nora Roberts stories but I have realized after being a member for only a short time, that the performance could really kill the story, I just think the voice is really annoying. I will be sure to read the reviews on the performance the next time I purchase a book.

A SHORT BUT VERY SWEET ROMANCE WITH GHOSTS TOO

From a family of four handsome, sexy, charismatic Alpha brothers bad boy Rafe is back in his hometown after 10 years absence during which time he made a successful house restoration business. But there was one house that's haunted him over the years, a grand, derelict and haunted house on the edge of town and he's just bought it with visions of restoring it to it's former historical glory and making it into a B & B. However, he needs the help of Regan's Antique Business, her knowledge and natural flair to make his vision come to life but the strong willed, independent, talented beauty, together with their mutual attraction, soon captures his imagination along with his heart too.

A very sweet contemporary romance with a sad and tragic Civil War ghost story running through it and there's a bit of angst, an abused wife with 2 shy children and her aggressive husband sub plot and a love story that was funny, light with witty banter and sensual but mild sex scenes. As with all Nora Robert's books, you're guaranteed richly described vivid scenes and loveable characters that soon draw you into their lives as you witness their hopes, dreams and desires slowly being fulfilled. You really feel the dynamics and love between all the brothers which enriches this listen.

Worth a credit? It was a very enjoyable, entertaining light listen that was short, sweet and cost under $5, so at that price there was no need to use a credit.

Simple plot but intriguing!!!

Great short story and boy do I like the Mackades even though they are a bit primitive with the need for physical fighting. Definitely a nice listen and unlike the negative feedback by others feedback regarding the narrator, I actually thought he was good. Well worth the read.

Another Nora Roberts formula book

Exactly what you'd expect from Nora. Sub plot relating to social issues, boy meets girl, falls in love, loses girl and you know what happens next, predictable and enjoyable, for fans! Reading not bad.

Love the McKade's

I wasn't sure about this book when I heard and read the synopsis but I thought let's give it a try. I mean it is Nora Roberts. Now I'm asking when are the other books being brought out in audio format?

It's a fun book which had me laughing and crying. A must read/listen.

Would you listen to The Return of Rafe MacKade again? Why?

After loving Nora Robets Inn Boomsbury series, I decided to try this set, and I've just downloaded the second book. As I did wnjoy it, It was a bit short really and very predictable but a good chill out read, with great characters, all the brothers, read it in a day and liked the brothers wanted to know what happened to all the brothers so will read the series. Enjoyable if you want a easy read.

The one in the woods between Rafe and the 9 year old Brian in which Rafe tells Brian he wants to marry his mum and make him his son.

I might, but I listen in the car to and from work and I have no long trips planned
