Is there anything as horrifying as what David's wife gave birth to?

How about that advertisement Tobias found that was selling a human head, condition used?

Then there's Ha-yong's experience in heaven (which isn't nearly as nice as it sounds)....

...and Kyle encountering that bionic cult that's a long way short of being human.

Spine-tingling terror from horror writers around the world. Dozens of diverse short stories containing gruesome murders, supernatural mysteries, grotesque hellscapes, and deranged psychopaths to keep you up at night. Surprise twists ensure you keep guessing until the last page.

Oh my goodness this book is good!

I loved every minute of Brutal Bedtime Stories. Honestly I haven't encountered a collection of dark tales this good since my childhood favorite Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. These stories were perfect in terms of length, pacing, and timing... really brilliant! I also enjoyed the short biography of each individual author before his section of stories.

The reader was so professional with a beautiful voice and accent... really a top notch narrator who's skill indicates readiness for just about anything (Stephen King, George RR Martin, etc.) He absolutely helped bring these spooky stories to life.

This book is an excellent buy for anyone who likes dark and disturbing short stories and if you're not in that camp you should still check out this book because you may discover what it is that the rest of us love about this genre!

I would like to thank the authors, narrator, and audiobook boom. I received a free copy of this book and have left this fair and unbiased review of my own volition.

A worthy listen

I thought all of the stories were very well done, though I wish a few more of them weren't in first person perspective, but that's subjective to my tastes. Starting out with the short bit of humor by David Maloney was brilliant, because it hooked my attention to the book. All of the authors did great, and I can only hope to achieve that level myself. Well done!

A great collection of numerous Short Stories

This is a great collection of over 40 short stories. Most are really good, some are great, and just a few are so-so (in a collection of this many tales not everyone can be a diamond, although I also think that if this had been split into thirds rather than one huge collection the so-so's might stand out more. They aren't bad, just when you compare $100 to $1000 the hundred seems not as impressive. So don't get the wrong idea.

The stories range from all types, and everyone will find something that fits their particular style of horror story. As anthologies go, this is one of the best I have seen, even if it is only made up of the work of 4 combined authors. Most anthologies hit you with one writer per tale, but here you really get a good bite of each man's work, and so you get to know them a lot better than the standard collection allows.

As a horror junkie I can't say these stories terrified me, little does. I haven't seen a "scary" movie since 1975. I am desenitized to it, even though I love it still. This does not mean that the stories are not moving, or disturbing. Quite the oposite actually. I might not have had to sleep with one open, although I am certain that less armored readers would, I was still moved and forced to think about the stories for a while after, and that is a sign of good story-telling. Tales that stick with you like a great stew, rather than a weak broth.

Either way, I look at it like this, the price for this gem is the same for a similar one with 1/3 or 1/2 the stories, and those books always suffer from about 1/2 the stories being good, a few mediocre ones, and the rest just suck outright. Here, you get a least double the normal stuff, and everything in it is decent or waaaay better. You can't go wrong.

If you like horror, dark themes, madness, and demons from hell this is the book for you!

Brutal Bedtime Stories

I enjoyed listening to most of the stories. There were a few weak ones but overall the quality of the stories were good. The narrator did a wonderful job with all of the stories. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

A nice group of grizzly short stories

This is a nice grouping of entertaining short stories. Some stories are better than others but overall it is a good collection. The narration was excellent if I could find one flaw it would be that I think that some of the stories should have been narrated by a female narrator. I highly recommend this book. I was provided a review copy by the author and publisher or near writer at no cost to me, all opinions are my own

Great collection of short horror stories with several by each contributor

I enjoyed all the stories, some were just fantastic. Having several stories by each author gives a great sense of each writer's style and a chance to explore their interests.

The reader was great at carrying the suspense of each story. I would only say that I generally prefer more than one narrator for story collections to provide some transition between stories.

Great horror story collection

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a great collection of horror stories. Granted, some are better than others, but that is to be expected. All in all, these were well written, creepy, and entertaining. The narration was good too, which made for an all around good experience.

Don't read in the dark....

Sick and twisted! These stories can make you question your own sanity! 4 starts overall.
The way these stories are told will lead you in one direction then smack you in the face and leave you questioning everything.
Great stories by the authors and wonderful performance by the narrator. Enjoy.
