Great mix of suspense and horror

Wonderful collection of short stories with a narrator who had done several of Mountfords books, Hannibal Hills. A couple stand-alone stories but 2 are prequels to his full length novels that ended up answering a couple loose ends from the novels.

A bloody good time!

What a bloody good read! Seriously, there is lots of blood in these stories and that's ok! Lee Mountford writes great. The stories keep your attention and guessing then here comes buckets of blood! Hannibal Hills narrates this book. He does fantastic, as usual and adds to the creepiness of these stories. I would recommend this to all horror fans.

A fantastic dive into a twisted world

This collection of short horror stories grabbed my attention from the very beginning. Between the author's amazing storytelling and the narrator's fantastic voice breathing life to each tale I was pulled in from the start and had to struggle to put it down.

The Suspense Builds and Builds...

A lot of horror goes right for the jugular, but this book builds on the suspense until you're a bundle of nerves when it all goes to hell. This book hit the mark every way possible in my opinion. Excellent writing style, suspenseful, highly imaginative and the horror didn't pull any punches. I highly recommend this book.

Ima need that nightlight now.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lee Mountford’s full length novels (especially Forest of the Damned) so I thought I’d give this collection a try, even though short stories typically aren’t my favorite. These were great. Creepy-leave the nightlight on-jumping at every creak- great! I especially loved that there were prequels to his previous novels (that I need to go re-read,now that I know the backstories). There were horror stories of all types from the just plain gruesome, to the straight up scary. Not to mention, one of them was almost identical to a nightmare I had as a kid that has stuck with me my entire life... so, that was a bit traumatic. And as always, Hannibal Hills’ narration was spot on. Not so over the top you’re laughing when you’re supposed to be scared (as with some other horror narrators) but with enough drama that you can feel the fear. This was a great collection, I’m definitely looking forward to volume 2. I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A new Master of horror

I absolutely loved this collection of short stories. I highly recommend Mountford's work to anyone who considers themselves a horror fan. I see Mr. Mountford as a new Master of horror who's name should be mentioned amongst the best in horror literature such as Barker, King & even Lovecraft. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
