I Really Enjoyed it.

I liked this book so much that half-way in. I decided to go back and start over. I Love how the stories connect. I think I have a new favorite .

This was a cool collection of horror short stories that all had a technology aspect to them. Very much reminded me of Black Mirror but much more gory and twisted. Very entertaining. The narration is well done. Definitately worth checking out if you like this sort of thing.

True Horror, with a High Tech Twist!

If you are looking for a really creepy book this Halloween season, I'd go for this chilling novel of true terror!

This is the book for people who are hardcore horror fans, especially those who are fascinated by the Deep Web. We all take it for granted that we can trust technology without much question. We hardly ever think twice about downloading any app that just pops up on our phones, or that a friend casually recommends to us. We don't even consider the thought that our smart phones could be used as a weapon against us. You'll never feel quite the same after listening to Hayong Bak's Life is Beta!

These totally twisted tales are delivered by the truly talented, up and coming new British narrator, Mortis Media. He brings the stories to life with his skilled performance and velvet voice, which will have you eagerly anticipating his next collaboration on another excellent Audible audio book!

A world I did not expect

When I first bought the audiobook I was familiar with the building blocks of the author. “Life is Beta” is the short story he is best known for. I did not expect that more than half of the book would be set in the same world, expanding upon the app and people surrounding it.
Following the stories based on Life is Beta, are several stand-alone stories, which I wish did not stand alone. I wanted sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and instant reboots.
I loved the format of the book. Each chapter was only about 10 minutes long, meaning it was a very quick set up, story, climax, and conclusion. It never felt like a grind to get through.
Some chapters may not be for everyone though. The violence may seem gratuitous or added simply for shock value but one must keep in mind that these were originally published individually. Also, the fact that it may have made you uncomfortable means it worked.
The only thing that even borders on a complaint for this book is that I am generally taken out of the story when a male narrator attempts to read in a female voice. But that’s nearly every audiobook I’ve listened to.

Definitely and Delightfully Sinister!

These stories are definitely for the horror lover! The narrator, does a great job of the 'camp fire creepy story' narration. I don't like to give out spoilers in my reviews. Just give it a listen, or read!

An Awesome Horror Story!

This is a horror story that will keep you rapt from the first word to the last. This is a bit realistic while being somewhat out there but all around entertaining. If you are a horror story lover then you must give this book and it's author a chance! The narration is well done and really adds to the story, helping to bring the story to life for the listener. A wonderfully gruesome story to entertain the listener with the dark side of life! Listen if you dare!!

Spectacular

Great short stories told well by the narrator. The stories are a but unusable but they leave you on the edge of your seat.

Absolutely Thrilling!

This is a great book. If you like technology and horror fan, this is the book for you. The stories are sinister, gritty, and will make you think twice about downloading and using that free App someone so casually recommends. Ha-yong Bak creates a technological terror and Mortis Media breathes life into these twisted and well-crafted stories that could well be a vision yet to pass. Grab this book, settle in and prepare to be scared!
