"Narrator Paul Sparks's performance is so perfect it challenges the listener to stop listening. Sure—just TRY to turn it off! Sparks is fantastic, whether he's giving voice to a fat Mafioso called Pig or a young rape victim who turns to Billy for help or the other colorful characters from King's work. While Billy's character is a tad far-fetched, it fits the definition of antihero—think Showtime's Dexter. And because the story is told in the first person, listeners see the decent person inside the man with blood on his hands."

Stephen King has a bad case of TDS

Loved the story and reader, but King over does it with the politics. We get it, you don't like Trump. I searched for any comments by King about our 45th, before he was elected POTUS....nothing at all. So, just like all the "media" tells us, Trump apparently didn't become a racist, white supremacist until he ran against Hank Clinton.

The Story of a Lost Man

An engaging story of a hit man for hire with more twists and turns (and references to previous stories as always) than you will likely expect. Poignant, introspective and a journey through the most difficult questions about life. What a ride!

Love

I don’t understand why people were hating on the narration. He was perfect. His reading of the book really pulled me into the story.

The entire book was fantastic. I’d go as far as saying this is one of King’s best.

Definitive King

As always, a page turner by mr King!
Narration was very good! I enjoyed it as I have enjoyed his many books for the past forty+ years. Thank you Stephen King for the hundreds of hours of pleasure! :)

Perfect

This is now my favorite Stephen King novel.
Perfect is the best I can say.
Anything more would be a spoiler.
Paul Sparks does a beautiful narration, and will always be Billy Summers’ voice.

I loved this book

This is not your standard Stephen King novel. I’ve long been a fan but this book elevated my appreciation to the next level. I couldn’t wait to listen each day and I hated to have it end.

The narrator Paul Sparks was outstanding. A narrator can make a story stand out and be multi-dimensional or they can ruin the experience. Paul Sparks is one of the best I’ve ever heard. So good that I would be likely to consider a purchase of a book just because he was the narrator. He brought each character to life and each stood out from the other clearly and uniquely.

I highly recommend this book. It was a wonderful listen.

Disappointed

Not a bad story but nothing supernatural about it. If you’re looking for classic King this is not it.

Could not stop listening!

I am a huge King fan, and this is a fantastic book! King is the master of character development, and it shines in this one. Excellent!

One of King's best

Did not want this to end. Characters are so well written that you know them. Narrator excellent if not a little breath-y at times. Loved this book.

Gosh. I really wanted Billy to live into another book
