Good read

I am such a fan of this series! Alicia's storyline isn't as interesting to me as that of Curtis and Charlotte, though. I really like this narrator!

Very good read; hard to put down

This author proves once again that she can write and tell a story! This book is a very good read, and anyone following the Curtis Black family will marvel at his redemption in the faith community, and how his daughter Alisha marries someone just like her father! Overall, an enjoyable read. At times, I found it hard to put this book down!. Definitely worth the read!

I am a Fan

I have enjoyed the Rev. Black books for years and this one put his daughter in the same footsteps we have seen him make. This time her morales are laxed and her new husband is the pain.

The thrilling conclusion is great

This is part of a great series. I love Curtis Black and the way that she has incorporated his children into the legacy of the books.

Big fan

Totally loved the story line. I just hate that the women in ALL these books are pitched as desperate and so blindly in love that they keep doing dumb stuff. I also hate that ministers are depicted in such a negative light. Oh well...on to the next book.

Be careful what you pray for

So many lessons to learn. Alicia evolves. The Black is a mess and addictive.

What a tangled webwe weave

I loved it and by now I'm not at all surprised at what Kimberla will come up with next. This book is a trite fraction of selfishness, greed and blatant disrespect. What's done in the dark will eventually be revealed, so be careful what you pray for.

Hooked on the Reverend Curtis Black Series

Last year, I went to a clearance book convention and picked up three Kimberla Lawson Roby books, two of which were in the Rev. Curtis Black series. I read them both and loved them!
I must say I haven't really read more than one book right after the other in over ten years! I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on Robys' books, she has definitely invited the passion of reading back in to my life.

This book was next in the series so I had to read it! Audible is great and I read(listened to) the book in three days. This was such a page turner I just couldn't put it down! I really enjoy reading about Alicia, but I hate she is in so much drama. However, I enjoyed the book & will be purchasing the next book very soon.

Enjoyable...

I love reading about Alicia. Kim Roby is my favorite author.
It didn't end the way I imagined but none the less I'm sure the next episode of the Black Family will be just as exciting.
