Great story

I enjoyed this book. Not only does it tell a great story, but also teaches you lessons about how unforgiveness can ruin you. It would be hard to forgive the things that Joshua forgave, but in the end he was fianlly released from the burned of hatred. No bad language in this book, which I always appreciate.

Great story and excellent narration!

This book took me on a voyage back in time and thought me many lessons!

I enjoyed the first book (Faith of my fathers), but this sequal is even better. You definitely do not have to be a strong believer to appreciate the story and after reading it, hopefully be able to forgive more easily!

Lynn Austin is now my new favorite author!

This series is awesome!

If you could sum up Among the Gods in three words, what would they be?

Engrossing, entertaining, enlightening

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Any additional comments?

I have over 600 titles in my library and if I had to give up all but one of the book series in my library, this would be the one I would keep.

Jeremiah 29:11-What An Awesome GOD!

I thank God for giving Sis Austin such a beautiful talent & skill & the inspiration to write the 5 books in the series of the Chronicles of the Kings! They were all amazing! They took me to places in the Biblical world where I never imagined how it was or very well could have been!
What I loved the most is how it enhanced the revelation of God's dealings with His People of that day & resulted in me comparing His dealings with me as one of His Children in our day! Jesus Christ, the same yesterday & today & forever! Hebrew 13:8. There is so much depth to God's Love, Grace & Mercy! How could we ever think that we can understand it all? It is so Vast, so Great! It is truly highlighted in these stories! While reading this series via audible I have felt the Love of God piercing through my own heart & soul! Reading this series has also helped me to become more aware of how applying our faith to The Word of God through life's trials can produce a fortress of Strength & give the Courage we never knew we could have when we believe & obey! I pray that Lynn Austin through her continued studying & revelation of God's Word will inspire her to write more of these inspirational books! My prayer is that God would use these books based on His Word to deal with the hearts of all those He causes to read them! In Jesus Name, Amen!

Epic story, well executed

I tremendously enjoyed the whole series. gave me a deeper understanding of the stories from the Bible. This book is about King Manasseh (2nd Chronicles 33:1-20, 2 Kings 21:1-18, Jeremiah 15)

Bringing the Bible to Life

Would you consider the audio edition of Among the Gods to be better than the print version?

Yes

What was one of the most memorable moments of Among the Gods?

When the King's advisor Shebnah, finally realized that even with all his vast knowledge he was nothing without God.

Which character – as performed by Suzanne Toren – was your favorite?

She is awesome with every character she performs. I have a hearing loss, but with her precise diction I didn't have any problems following the story line. I will look for more books that she reads.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several moments when I found myself actually worshipping God and praising Him for His deliverance. My favorite moment might have been when Hezekiah forgave his wife for worshiping idols as she humbled herself before God. It was an awesome picture of how God forgives us.

Any additional comments?

I can't stop talking about this series. It has changed the way I look at what is currently happening in our government. I also find myself drawn to praying for Israel and looking for news reports on what is happening is Israel. It has made me take God and His Word and Promises much more seriously.

God’s Forgiveness in Action

This book is the best in the series, in my opinion. I love how the author works examples of God’s Love and forgiveness into the story while staying true to scriptures. The area of Christian fiction long since needed great authors and I’m glad I stumbled onto this series

Overwhelmed at times by the anger

I love these books - so powerful and they bring the Old Testament to life beautifully.
But this one was so full of anger, I found it difficult to listen at times. I enjoy the narrator in general for this series, but it could have been how she read it. I don’t know since I’ve only heard it. I appreciate the lessons about forgiveness and God’s love and dealing with anger and pain - but in this the anger seemed to detract from the book at many points.

I still recommend the series - but some people may need to be aware of how hard it can be to hear this book. How tedious it was for me - but if anger is a trigger it could be far harder than tedious.

Forgiveness

It wasn't until the end of this 5th book that I finally understand my need to forgive in order to be forgiven. Thank you for writing this story.
