Not so good

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I could see where the author was going but it was way too rushed. The writing was elementary and I can't decide if the narrator was choppy in her reading or if it was the writing making her sound that way. The narrator had a pleasant voice. This one just had too much going on.

Was ok

I had a really hard time with this book, but I must say that the narrator did a great job considering what she had to deal with. To me the characters were all over the place and it made the action that showed up feel hardly fleshed out. Things happened way to fast as if the author was trying to put way to much in the short amount of time.

I tried

I really wanted to like this book, I love everything about this book as far as werewolves, sex, shapeshifters etc. I think the premise of this book is really good. but I think the way it was written it makes it super confusing for the reader to clarify is she is a victim or a heroine, we all have days where we are not as strong but this is a bit too much rubber banding. I think the author has a wonderful story but the lack of character building and just tossing and random sex scenes inappropriate or not left me wondering why another few weeks could not have been spent to make this Buck what it really could have been. I hate leaving bad reviews and again I love the premise of the book I really think if it was written with a bit more time and a clear path from beginning to end this would have been a favorite

Escaped

Jaycee has been on the run all her life. She has been through Hell and back and it seems finding her mates does not change anything for her. She finds herself in another kind of prison when her mates enter the picture. Jaycee is constantly betrayed and hurt. Even by her mates in the name of love. How much more can one woman take before she is too broken?

This is an engaging beginning to this series. Jaycee is a strong woman; she is a survivor but after all that she goes through in this book the question of being too broken to fight for survival comes to mind. While her mates proclaim to love her, they constantly berate and ignore her as well as trick her, ignoring the pain it causes her. This is an emotional story and just the beginning of Jaycee and her mates. The alphas in this book are self-centered and mean only treating Jaycee as someone to sleep with even after learning of her hurt they ignore it. They have a lot of making up and fixing in the books to come. Narrator Michelle Jones does a nice job of showing the emotions from Jaycee.

Shifter romance

This was a good start to a new series of shifter books.
I enjoyed the hot menage parts, but her partners came off so cold, considering what she has been threw it was very hard to understand. I also understand that it was part of the story line.
It ended with a mild cliffhanger.

Abused, UnableTo Shift, JaCee Finds Mate(s) & Different Abuse

I like the shifter stories where the alpha, once he finds his mate, is protective, loving and faithful. At first I thought Dane would be these things to Jaycee whose has been abandoned, physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually abuse by her parents, stepfather and ‘husband’ I was wrong
Possessive, demanding, controlling, insensitive and unfair describes him best.
Then we find out she has 2 more mates, much the same.
This is the first book, perhaps my opinion will improve Lots of sex but I saw it as manipulative not loving or caring.
I enjoy the narrators voice and emotions, but it felt choppy and stiff at times,

Hate to judge the narrator, but story was a bust

DNF chapter 4

Man I wanted to like this. I was so excited about a MfM, that might be a little more MMf. But there is just WAY too much going on and no where near enough explained. There's the alpha werewolf thing, the SEAL team thing, shared mate thing, the kidnapped and abused/raped woman thing, the psycho ex-husband thing, the BDSM thing, the secret history thing, the missing father and abusive stepfather thing. (That's just in the first 4 chapters!) It's all thrown at the reader out of nowhere; totally confusing and not fun to read.

And I get that this is erotica, so more focused on sex than plot or character development (of which there is none, I don't know these people at all, or care about them), but the sex has thus far been decidedly unappealing. This book is striking out on all fronts. And I don't like the narration either (though that could be her doing her best with the content). So, I'm talking TOTAL bust.

The thing is I have all seven of them on audio. I hate to give up on all of that. Maybe I'll try book two. But I'm kinda cringing at even the thought.

Note: I received a free audible code for this book. I chose to listen (or try and listen) and review it.

Escaped

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

This book seemed to jump all over the place and was hard for me to follow. I eventually got myself unconfused enough to follow it and started to enjoy it. I am hoping the next book in the series is a bit easier to follow. Great narration by Michelle Jones!

A great read

I loved this story, it had non-stop action, romance and a villain you love to hate - or two! I couldn't help but feel for Jaycee, she just can't catch a break, after being on the run for half her life from abuse, shes confronted with not just one mate but three who are alpha and incredibly dominant. Unfortunately Jaycee's troubles do not end there, her mates are trying to roll right over her and sensitivity is not part of the package, and theres still the problem of her past resurfacing. This book was an emotional rollercoaster, and had me laughing and crying, along with wanting to throw something over the mates actions, I can't wait to start the next book!

very sensual

I loved JC but had a lot of issues with how she was treated by her mates throughout the book. She was going through so much but they just kind of ignored her thoughts and feelings unless they had no choice but to pay attention. Although it is a good story and full of hot scenes. I would recommend it but with a trigger warning.

Paranormal Menage Shifter Romance

Escaped is a tale about Jaycee Manz and her multiple alpha wolf mates.

Jaycee was brutalized by her abusive ex and is dealing with both emotional and physical scars. A shifter herself, she unknowingly takes refuge with a friend who also is wolf-shifter.

Dane Glasgow, the alpha of the clan informs Jaycee is his mate. Then Dane's brother, Mark comes into the picture becoming her second mate. Not long after a third mate reveals itself. Jaycee ponders the dilemma of three mates and the challenges ahead. Meanwhile, her mates are on protective mode, doing their best to shield Jaycee from her vengeful ex and stepfather.

The story has a couple of unexpected turns. However, the writing is too fast paste. The transition from one scene to another gets a bit confusing. Perhaps, if the book was longer it would've had a better delivery. Michelle Jones read the story well, she has a pleasant voice.

Escaped is a light erotic listen, with BDSM and menage elements. The content is 18+, so be warned!!

D/s

I love an alpha! And the hero is definitely all alpha. Don't like reading about rape so was not crazy about that aspect of the story. I was also confused at how abused she had been yet she was really into D/s and basically other things that were very close to her abusive history. Tons of action and I loved the supernatural aspect. The narrator did a good job.

A wonderful New Series!!

I loved this book. This is the first book by this author that I have listen to and I enjoyed listening. You know that the book is engaging story when you want to defend the characters and find yourself yelling at the characters. This story will had me going through a range of emotions, from laughing to crying to being pissed off at some of the evil characters.
The narrator does a fantastic job with the characters and voices of each character. This is the first book narrated by Michelle Jones and I have to say Wow. She has a very pleasant voice to listen to. I recommend this book!
