Publisher's Summary

From Dirty Blood:

I killed a girl last night.

I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that's not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can't seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted - and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws.

But, by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again.

That's about the time I went into shock. And that was the moment he showed up.

Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, werewolves do exist. And two, I was born to kill them.

Get hooked on werewolves in a way you've never seen them before! This version contains the first four audiobooks in the best-selling Dirty Blood series.

Follow Tara's journey through the world of werewolves and hunters from the beginning!

Excellent story

This is a great series of books and an excellent value for just one credit. The story has heartbreak, twists, romance, intrigue, heart stopping fights and engaging characters that you can’t help but become attached to. The story flows well from one book to the next, building depth to both the characters and the world as it progresses. The narrator did a great job of giving the characters individual personalities and voices. She did the different accents well and really drew you into the story. I can’t wait to find out how everything ends in the next book.

Interesting take on werewolves

I was grateful to get this as four in one since each one had a pretty large cliffhanger ending. I enjoyed certain things and some things got on my nerves. Many characters wouldn’t communicate with other people and would only see things from their side and a certain kind of love triangle had some things I wasn’t fond of. I did like the lore and the way werewolves were portrayed. This was a different type of werewolf than what I was used to. The hunters were interesting but so many people were on the extremes which made me want to scream at times. I liked the hybrids and want to know more about them. There’s so much more to learn and find out about. The main character did whine a lot and some of the times I could understand why and other times I just wanted her to stop. She had a lot of compassion which I liked but I really wanted people to trust and communicate more. The narrator did a good job Andy you could always be tell who was talking and emotion and inflection was there which I enjoyed. Tara had a lot of catching up to do and figure out. I liked Wes a lot. And I liked some of the characters more as the books went on. Tara’s family is kind of crazy. There’s a lot of action and things to figure out alongside with why people are doing the things they are doing. This last one had such a cliffhanger. I want to know what will happen next and how Tara will get out of the terribleness situation she got herself into. The author has a good way of writing so I am curious to read other things written by this one.

Main character whines too much

could have been a much better story if the main character wasn’t so childish for 17. OMG shut her up!

Teenybopper book.

If you are over 13 this series probably isn’t for you. I couldn’t even finish it. Everything about it is juvenile.

Decent series

Tara finds out werewolves exist the hard way--being attacked by one & killing it. She meets Wes after the attack. He's a hybrid-half werewolf/half hunter--aka dirty blood. Tara comes to find out that she's also a dirty blood. This is all about what Tara goes thru while learning what she is. She gets training learning how to fight by the alpha of the pack that Wes is part of. Her best friend George is given an injection to turn him in to a werewolf by Tara's crazy cousin & she has to find a way to save him. Once she does, they have a bond where they can hear each other's thoughts. She ends up bonded to a group of hunters turned werewolves.

This is a roller coaster of a ride for Tara & all of those around her. I did enjoy this series, but the length of the set was a bit overwhelming. The narrator was pretty good, but there were times when voicing of one character sounded like another character. At times Tara & Wes are whiny. They are teens, which is sometimes expected, but these 2 are supposed to be leaders & it makes it very hard to believe that they will ever become who they are supposed to be. Alex who is Tara's trainer at hunter school is easy to like, but he's extremely contradictory in how he acts & his actions. It's hard to explain it, but you'll see what I mean when reading or listening to this set. The storyline is different from anything I've read & book 4 ends on a cliffhanger. I did get book 5 since I hate to not have conclusion when I'm reading a series, and I'll be reading book 6 soon. This is the first book/series from Heather I've read & I'll read more of her stuff.

Definitely young adult fiction

Which is not to say that I didn’t enjoy the listen. In fact, I bought the fifth book after listening to the box set. Most of the books have a “high school” setting and there is the requisite teenage angst over who sits with whom in the cafeteria and who is seeing whom. But the story was interesting and was able to keep my attention. Worth the listen.

Mix between Buffy the Vampire slayer and Bitten.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dirty Blood Series Box Set to be better than the print version?

Not read.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Undecided in book one still have the rest of the series to go. So far The characters need to develop more.

What about Kelly Pruner’s performance did you like?

Very theatrical, I liked it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

Made it through book one, it started off slow and very reminiscent of Buffy the vampire slayer season one, yes I was a fan, but it was 20 years ago and I was a lot younger. I need to pay more attention on the ages portrayed. During the chapter I got hints of Bitten and bits of Elena Michaels starting to emerge. All in all it is ok enough for me to continue on to book two. Hopefully the Buffy/Bitten baby will develop it's own personality. I'll keep in touch!

I tired to like it but no

The storyline is predictable and slow moving at first but the fourth book is what honestly killed it for me. The main character is always whiny always unable to solve her own problems and never thinks through any of her actions until she is in a mess. It’s almost as if she loses any ability to do intellectual thinking. Yes the book is about teenage characters dealing with major events but the books just get worse as they go.

it's a good enough story to occupy your time but..

if your looking for something that is a complete storyline that fulfills your desire to understand, this is not your book series. while this book is something mildly entertaining and has interesting diverse characters that will make you love them, the storyline and explanations will not be complete and will contradict with previously understood "facts". I like the characters enough to hang on and get through the frustration so 3 stars is my verdict.

children's books

I would like it if you were informed on your sie if the books that you sell have information on the age that the book is intended forr.
this book is for children and I have paid good money for about three books which should have been marked for a younger audience.
please reply to this criticism as I may have to move to another company.

Extremely tedious main character

Sadly I was so sick of Tara by the end of the 4th book I could barely finish it, won't be going back to the fifth! I bought this because it's a box set, but sadly it's just not very good.
