Publisher's Summary

This is a complete five-book series urban fantasy adventure bundle.

Bound by duty. Marked by fate.

I’m Krystin Blackwood, and I’ve only ever been good at one thing: killing demons of Darkness.

But at 24, I’m about to face my toughest challenge yet: shifting from working alone to joining a team of three other Hunters. Newbie Hunters. They don’t know their magik, they barely know their place in the world, and when they find out the secrets I’ve been carrying, they’ll definitely decide it’s safer if they don’t know me.

But unfortunately for them - and me - Darkness has other plans. Lady Azar, Darkness’s heir, stole my new team leader’s son two years ago. Now, she and her lackeys are rallying to exchange Ben’s son for me because of the power I wield. I’m one-half of a prophecy to save an ancient city the Powers of Good lost centuries ago. And if I fail or die before that happens, the destruction of that city will be felt across all planes of existence.

If we can’t find Ben’s son before All Hallows’ Eve and somehow save him without putting my life at risk, that existential explosion will absolutely happen. But it’ll be nothing compared to the destruction wrought if Lady Azar changes Ben’s son into a demon...and her minion.

Because the only thing more dangerous than me with a blade is a father’s wrath.

This complete series bundle contains all five books of the Hunter Circles series: The Hunted, The Traitor, The Changed, The Hero, and The Power. All are full-length 60,000-plus-word urban-fantasy adventure novels full of nonstop, action-packed adventure and demon-fighting, magic, gray anti-heroes, a slow-burn romance, and a story full of heart from the very first chapter.

Fantastic Captivating Series

This is such a fantastic captivating series with in depth characters and detailed world building. I became invested in the characters journeys early on but each book drew me in deeper. There is plenty of action, suspense & magic. The story is fast paced & I'm glad I had the boxset so I could go right into the next book. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story and characters to life.

Hunter Circles

This set kept me busy for days. Kristen is such a strong heroine and fits right in with her team of hunters. I loved the fatherly devotion that Ben portrays. Condon did a great job with both female and male voices.

Krystin is cool, but Ben is a moron

This story alternates between Krystin and Ben's POV. Krystin is a great multidimensional character. Ben, on the other hand, is a moron and consistently does the dumbest thing possible, which is a bit frustrating.
The narrator makes so unconventional voice choices at times (why is Shawn's voice so high) and occasional I think she uses the wrong voice.

good storyline and interesting characters

I am enjoying the story but it is hard to listen to. This would be a better audio book if the narrator just read the story instead of trying to provide a voice for each character. One of the 4 twenty-somethings in the hunter group sounds like a 10 year old girl and I'm pretty sure it's a guy. There are other irritants I won't mention so you won't be hyper focused on them like I am.

All in all, the story is good enough to ignore the reader, at. least so far...

Maybe it’s just me?

I found the audiobook hard to follow on who was saying what. I’m not sure if it was the way it was written or the way it was narrated but I listened to the whole set, so it wasn’t bad just not as entertaining as an “easy to listen to” story.

Decent urban fantasy.

You'll definitely get plenty of bang for your buck...or credit, as you get all 5 books in the series, which runs a bit over 34 hours of listening time. I have to say there is a rich/complex world woven into this story, but I must warn you that you'll need to stick with it for a while because at the start if you are anything like me, you'll be sort of confused. Starting out it almost seems like Ms. Gunn assumes the listener/reader somehow knows everything she does about this world she's created. If you stick with it you'll eventually get somewhat of a better understanding, but I do think things could have been handled better. That being said, the story is pretty good and there is plenty of action too had .I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Started out very bad so far

1) She is supposed to be an experienced Demon Hunter. First encounter she charges up and jumps on his back? Really? That is…so…middle school. What the hell! That’s how you kill powerful demons. Jump on their backs and try to break their necks?

She went from on being his back, trying to break its neck, to a distance away with someone between her and the demon without transition. Demon throws a knife and she catches it out of the air and stabs the demon…huh? Stabs the demon from a distance far enough away to allow her to catch it out of the air? If she is using her telekinesis the writer should have said so. But that’s not how it reads.

I hope it gets better.

An entertaining Urban Fantasy

#1 The Hunted
The first book introduces us to the characters and sets the scene for battles the Hunters will face against the demons as they struggle to fulfil a prophecy to save a lost city.
The fight scenes are very dramatic, tense and suspenseful as the group try to rescue the kidnapped infant of their group leader. The evil or bad characters I found to be very intriguing and I enjoyed Giyano's interactions with the Hunters. He appears to be a complex character and one bad boy I quite like!
The story held my attention all the way to end and left me looking forward to the next instalment.

#2 The Traitor (Review to follow shortly)

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy

To slow and predictable

Found the emotions quoted in the book to be that of a 7-10 year old not 24 which was the age of the main characters

More annoying than entertaining.

I was very disappointed with these books, I wanted them to be better.
the characters were unlikeable, the story was ok, even good in places. The whole experience was ruined by a terrible performance from Shannon Condon who can't seem to pronounce a great deal of the words and who's idea of voice acting is pitifully short of the mark.

I really struggled to finish the series.

Great series

I received this book free for an honest review.

Having already listened to book 1 & 2 I was happy to see the series come up for review.
I enjoyed listening to the remainder of the books and Shannon’s nation was great too.

Fabulous

Enjoyed the box set very much
But at 24, I’m about to face my toughest challenge yet: shifting from working alone to joining a team of three other Hunters.
