One of a kind

As a young adult avid reader this book was so unique and pulled me in immediately. The relationship between violet and jay was perfect. The fact that violet has this power to seek out the dead and track the violence of the malicious people is ONE OF A KIND!! I have loved this book from the first chapter!!! It is a must read and can’t wait to see what the next books hold!!!

good story! 👏

the story had me hooked, personally, since the start. the narrator was okay, but they did make the book a little less immersive. I read the actual book before this and it was a little easier to imagine what was happening. other than that, really no other complaints about the voices, it must be hard to sound like a realistic teenage boy when you aren't. the plot was pretty original, and what made it even better was that the story was based on near where I live. i think this is a good book overall :)

You are warned

The book was ok, but there are some things you should be warned about. The narrator did a bad job on the characters. Her voice was too high-pitched and squeaky when she was doing Violet's part, which made the whole thing extremly distracting. Also, this is literally one of the cheesiest novels I have ever read. Don't get me wrong, there's certainly nothing wrong with that. But I know that many people trying this book are fans of paranormal romance. This book is much more Gossip Girl and The Clique than Twilight.

Violet and Jay are my best friends!

I LOVED this book. It's so so so so so good!!!! The Narrator is amazing!! If you are looking for a sweet yet suspenseful and thrilling book to read, well, look no further! I can't wait to read the other one's!

Good plot, horrible narration

The story/plot itself was really interesting. I could see this being made into a movie. However, I found the writing a bit juvenile and awkward at times. But, I will read/listen to the next in the series.

Narration: This book is tied for the worst narration I've ever heard. The only distinct voices were Claire and Violet. Every other female sounded the same and every other male sounded the same. Additionally, the male voices sounded like a woman *trying* to sound like a man. The men/boys came across as sounding oaf-ish and I could only picture Jay as a large, awkward boy. I strongly recommend a different narrator for the remaining novels.
