Publisher's summary

Contains books one and two of the Cyborg Corps series.

Cyborg Corps, book 1

Warren Prescott is a veteran amputee who can’t catch a break. When the VA calls him in for an experimental procedure to restore his leg, he is amazed. Finally, he will be able to feel the warm sand beneath his feet again - or so the doctor promises. Too bad it was all a lie.

The next time Warren opens his eyes, four centuries have passed. Somehow, he’s standing in the middle of a battlefield, stuck on a distant alien planet, far away from home. To make matters worse, his body appears to be entirely synthetic. He’s a cyborg, nearly indestructible and enhanced for extreme combat.

With centuries of time missing from his memory and no idea how to get home, Warren is left with no choice but to fight against those who would see him enslaved, and free as many of his brothers as possible along the way.

Built to Last, book 2

The shackles have been broken. The war for freedom has begun. Warren's new colony has become an oasis in a war-torn galaxy, but new enemies and a distant call for help threaten to wrench peace from his grasp.

As more cyborgs are discovered throughout the galaxy, the fight for freedom expands beyond the colony of Reotis. Warren's search for answers grows, along with his thirst for independence.

He will not be made a slave ever again. He vows to live, to survive, to rebel. No matter the cost.

Exciting and interesting.

I don’t usually read war books, but I did enjoy this one. I liked the emotional and mental growth of the main character who is 400 years old. One reviewer said they didn’t like the narration because it was too monotone, but I disagree with that person. I think the narration was exactly the way my brain would have read it. All in all, it was quite entertaining!

Not bad, kinda like sitcom tv

Kinda follows the usual story arcs, nothing special in the prose or plot particularly but an enjoyable listen. Goes by fairly quickly, if you’re waiting for your next credits and are currently digging through the plus catalog give this one a shot.

A soldiers view of war

A good story, very little politics. A story of a soldiers view of war. How much waste, nonsense and fertility, but yet sometimes is necessary.

Entertaining, but ...

Entertaining and well-narrated. Enjoyable to listen. Entertainment "fast food", comprising an action plot sequence with simple characters and little depth. The sub-plot with the AI on the moon has been totally ridiculous. The author could have done better than that.

A Must Read

Chaney / Winder outdid themselves on this one. It grabs your imagination by the throat and dares you to hold on for the ride. What makes it so great is it is not a far stretch to see this become a reality not so very far in the future. 5 Stars and 2 Thumbs Up. Great Job guys!
