What happens when a woman marries her greatest enemy?

When investigative journalist Reagan McAdams discovers her new husband, Julien, is part of a powerful international crime family, she flees Paris with their newborn, returning to her childhood home in Nutfield, New Hampshire. She plans to gather her inheritance, collect her beloved grandmother, and disappear forever. She'll do whatever it takes to protect her son from his criminal father.

But when Reagan arrives home, her heart breaks at the news of her grandmother's death. Finding her missing inheritance - hidden somewhere on the property - is as impossible as a second chance with her former boyfriend, Brady. Reagan's feelings for Brady are stronger than ever, but when Julien's people harm innocents to smoke her out, Reagan must make a choice. What - and who - will she have to sacrifice to save her son?

Suspenseful & enjoyable

I liked this book. There were parts that show real evil, however these are brief and far apart. One of the reviewers stated she was tdisappointed there was not more Christian references. While I would have loved to see more Christian references, there were more at the end.
I’m very grateful there were no detailed sex senes. I liked how the characters (good guys) work together to fight the bad guys.

Excellent story ... but missed opportunity

This was my first book by Robin Patchen and it was an excellent story, a good narrator, maybe a little long, but kept my interest the entire time. My only disappointment was the lack of faith woven into the story. I’m not looking for anything “preachy”, but there were so many missed opportunities to weave in more than a desperate (foxhole) plea to a God the characters didn’t know, or having a friend say she’d be praying. I guess from an author who writes Christian Romantic Suspense I expected a little more.

One the edge of my seat!!

where to start! this story has good guys and bad guys and bad guys that are surprisingly good, its very suspenseful. you find yourself trying to figure out where Rae's treasure could be hiding and you wish you could just tell her "look here" this book does not go in the direction you think it might!
