great

how can you not fall in love with this guy? he saves her from poverty and bad guys and horrifying memories! its great! I loved every minute of it! there was some suspense, and some tension and LOTS of romantic moments, with that wonderful Christian flavor. I wish that there was some kind of flag or sign that audible could put on books like this so I could buy them all - knowing they'd make me feel this uplifted (too often, it's a guess and I end up disapppointed.)

Tear-jerker, smile grabber, a feel good story

I absolutely loved this book!! I kept it on my Ipod and was often listening when I should have been doing other things ... also volunteered to mow the lawn for my husband, so I'd have an excuse to listen for an hour or more. Noel grabbed my heart and I so wanted her to find herself in God.

An Outstanding Read

I appreciated the author gradually leading us as the characters learn to understand God's love and mercy. Too often God is portrayed as a Santa Claus. Just pray and it will be healed, solved, found. In this book the central character has deep faith but develops an even deeper relationship with the Lord as the plot unfolds. God, in His infinite wisdom and love, is the hero of the story. He does not always answer overnight, nor does He always answer the way we wish, but He does answer. Surrendering to His will is a central theme. Congratulations to Kristen Heitzmann for writing a believable story about Christians that isn't trite or corny.

Interesting

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when I first started listening but soon found myself captivated by the characters and story-line. This was an interesting book.

well.....

I read this book several years ago and liked it then. It's got a beautiful, trajic heroine, handsome heroes, psycho boyfriend, rich, overprotective father, lovely landscape...but after listening to it now, the characters are melodramatic and whiney. In terms of Christian fiction, it's not Redeeming Love (by Francine Rivers) but it's better than most.

Good but slow

I liked A Rush of Wings. I thought the author did a good job delving into personal faith and the struggle people have understanding it and allowing their faith to give them the strength they need to carry on. I thought the author was realistic and not idealistic regarding faith.

While I enjoyed the book I can't say that it was one of those books that I will remember for a long time. It was probably more of an average book; the the author is an average writer and the narriator as well.

VERY SLOW READ

I had high hopes for this novel after reading it compared to Francine Rivers, "Redeeming Love." It was NOTHING like that. I struggled to stay interested the whole first 15 chapters (that's saying a lot). The story seemed shallow. Too much detail with not enough plot to maintain interest. Didn't flow well.

The second half was much better and made the purchase worthwhile but not sure I'd recommend this book by any means.

wonderful story

This is a well written story with engaging characters. Occasionally the narrator's transition at the end of the sections or chapters was abrupt causing the last word of one to run directly into the other. It was just not smooth but not too disruptive to the overall storytelling.

fabulous!

Loved it! Right up there with my favorite, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. The story was awkward at first, I was unsure, having no experience with this Author. Then all of a sudden I was so intrigued I had to keep listening and I do not regret one minute. Well done. The characters wrestled with themselves, each other, their faith. Truly the human struggles were portrayed believably as was the Gospel.

Excellent!!

I liked the storyline. It let me see how low a person can get before they will trust in God.
