Starts strong, then becomes an Ideo advertisement

The first couple chapters are quite informative and useful. It lays out design thinking in a clear way and goes through what it involves, how to use it properly and effectively, etc. However, after that the rest of the book is just a long list of different projects that Ideo has done and changes it's undergone. I've walked away knowing a whole lot about Ideo and decent amount about design thinking. Overall, a good book though it could have knocked off an hour or so of the case studies.

Interesting concepts but an ad for company.

Great examples of design thinkers.
As a technologist it is important to step away.
Compelling stories of 3rd world stories and startups

I would love to work at that company, but better to start your own dream :)

Required reading

This is part of the change management MBA program at Friends University. I enjoyed the audio so much more then just reading the book. It really came alive.

An interesting listen.

I found this book to be more about the design thinking ideologies and less about the actual design thinking techniques. If you are looking for a book that outlines the process and complexities of design thinking and how to use it with your own inventions, you may want to skip this book. If you're looking for a sweeping overview of the design thinking methodology from the perspective of the CEO of IDEO, then it's definitely worth listening to. It really depends on where you're coming from. For those that say this book is merely a chronicle of all the great work that IDEO has done, you're right. It was written by their CEO! Go figure.

Good Book for an Intro into Design Thinking

A good book if you’re looking to understand the basics of design thinking. Tim provides numerous projects that have been through a human-focused design approach. They are noteworthy and interesting, in most cases. However, they are high level and do not go into any amount of detail. I bought the book because the overview highlighted that this book is not a book about design for designers - true. It also highlighted that it would help readers with infusing Design Thinking into their organization. This is where it falls short, IMO. Tim highlights why an organization will benefit and that getting executives involved and bought in is helpful. It does not go into examples, however, about how Design Thinking goes beyond a project and gets rooted into an organizational culture. I’m on this journey, now. It’s not trivial but very worthwhile.

amazing!

very simple to understand and provides insight of how design thinking can be simply applied to every life scenario, providing great problem resolution to problems you never knew you actually had. Complete mind shift!
