If I were to summarize my entire book in one word, it would be Ferrari. The secret to excellent health - the answer - is to treat your body like you would treat a Ferrari. A Ferrari is the archetype of a sports car, one of the most precise and high-performance machines ever made. It is exotic, fast, agile, and beautiful. If you take the same care of your body as you would a Ferrari - using only the best fuel and regularly taking it to the best mechanic for maintenance - your body will give you 10 times what you put into it for the duration of your life.
In factories around the world, Toyota consistently makes the highest-quality cars with the fewest defects of any competing manufacturer, while using fewer man-hours, less on-hand inventory, and half the floor space of its competitors. The Toyota Way is the first book for a general audience that explains the management principles and business philosophy behind Toyota's worldwide reputation for quality and reliability.
The missing link to long-term Lean success! Despite the fact that companies worldwide have adopted Lean production, none has sustained the same levels of excellence as Toyota. Why? Leadership. In The Toyota Way to Lean Leadership, Jeffrey Liker and Gary L. Convis, a former executive V.P. and managing officer of Toyota, help executives and senior managers get employees to refocus their efforts - from simply performing their singular function to continuously improving in collaboration across the organization.
In 12 new essays ranging from the provocative to the practical, and written specially for the second edition of Gemba Walks, author and management expert Jim Womack reflects on the past 30 years of lean and assesses the current state of lean today.
This book adds examples from over twenty years of experience by Dr. Liker in working with companies outside of Toyota. This audiobook treats you as a student who will be actively engaged in developing lean leader skills as you read. It acts as a tutorial for beginning the journey!
Womack and Jones, the authors of The Machine That Changed the World and creators of the "lean enterprise" theory, take leanness to the next step with a focus on what the customer really wants, not what it is possible to get him to accept. This is the management book for the next business generation.

A powerful business fable that shows you how to spread Lean business practices to every function of your business. Pascal Dennis is a Lean-business learner and practitioner who has written four books on the subject of Lean business practices. In The Remedy, he shows how Lean business practices can be expanded from manufacturing to all the other areas of your business - including design, engineering, sales, and marketing and all processes in between - and how doing so builds a more efficient organization at every level.
Lean Construction is a way to do more and more with less and less; less effort, less equipment, less time and less space whilst providing customers with exactly what they want. A Lean system, process, and organisation is one that is waste free. Lean is not about size or number of people employed. A reduction in employees may cut costs, and eliminate the waste of those employees, but does not decrease the proportion of waste to value adding within the organisation or process.
Ever since Toyota introduced the revolutionary Toyota Production System (TPS), businesses have tried to replicate Toyota’s success. Few have succeeded. What businesses have failed to realize is that TPS calls for a fundamentally different way of thinking. At long last, here is a straightforward guide that make sense of the thinking culture behind Toyota’s success. Tracey and Ernie Richardson speak from the heart as Toyota employees who worked in the Kentucky factory when the company was first introducing its people-first approach in the US, and went on in the ensuing decades to teach Lean thinking around the world.

Giving the book 5-stars was the easy part. Implementing the ideas and developing a culture such as the one at Fastcap requires a little more work on the reader's part.
Paul Akers is a fascinating, inspiring "regular guy". Take what you will from this, but miss out on the lessons at your peril.
The delivery is excellent too, with Mr. Akers' passion coming through in spades throughout.
I can't recommend this book highly enough.

What did you love best about 2 Second Lean?
I really enjoyed the fast pace and bite sized chapters. I'm a LEAN/Six Sigma green belt and I had a pretty good understanding of the basics prior to this, but I cued this up on a four hour drive from Houston to Dallas and back and listened straight through to the end. The author does a great job of making LEAN understandable and FUN! It was a great listen!
What about Paul A. Akers’s performance did you like?
Very engaging. Well done narration.
