Publisher's summary

Probably the best way to explain behavior was developed by Stanford professor BJ Fogg. Behind him, behavior arises from the presence of three elements - motivation, ability and a trigger. Motivation arises from emotional reactions. Skills are either present or create hurdles in the absence. These hurdles prevent behavior. Triggers are all elements that affect people psychologically and trigger behavior.

Unfortunately, emotions are still insufficiently explained in the model, which is why we use a different model that was developed in 1988 to explain emotions on a cognitive basis. The OCC model of emotions derives emotions as a consequence of cognitive processes. Accordingly, up to eleven basic emotions are created. These are positive, negative or neutral. This creates motivation that moves us to avoid something or. The model explains emotional motivation (experience) using three elements. It is particularly important to take long-term goals into account. We often give preference to long-term goals over short-term goals - a quality that only people have. Important goals are life goals, life goals but also annual goals.

As a rule, all important, significant, short-term goals contribute to long-term goals. Skills in turn describe the ability to convert motivation into behavior. Obstacles arise both in the context of use and through permanent restrictions. By the way, suitable concepts can remove hurdles. Our methodology can be used as a guard rail for thinking and acting in different areas.
