Publisher's Summary

"Elvis, you and I know the truth and unfortunately you’re not here to set the record straight. With this book, I will try to.…"

Elvis Presley and Graceland were fixtures in the life of Ginger Alden, having been born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. But she had no idea that she would play a part in that enduring legacy - as Elvis Presley’s fiancée, and his last great love. For over three decades Ginger has held the truth of their relationship close to her heart. Now she shares her unique story, and while a lot has been written about the King, the Elvis we meet in this long-anticipated memoir is a revelation.

In her own words Ginger details their whirlwind romance - from first kiss to his stunning proposal of marriage. She details his exploration of Eastern religions, his perception of being a "legend", his devotion to family and friends, and her attempt to know the insular group surrounding Elvis. And for the very first time she talks about the devastating end of it all, and the 50,000 mourners and reporters who descended on Graceland in 1977, exposing Ginger to the reality of living in the spotlight of a short, yet immortal, life.

Above it all, Alden rescues Elvis from the hearsay, rumors, and tabloid speculations of his final year by shedding a frank yet personal light on a very public legend. From a unique and intimate perspective, she reveals the man - complicated, romantic, fallible, and human - behind the enduring myth, a superstar worshipped by millions, and loved by Ginger Alden.

I have been an Elvis fan since I was a small child. I remember where I was and how I felt shocked and a broken hearted to hear the news that he had passed away. As the years since then have passed I have read everything I could get my hands on about The King.

In this book I did not find anything enlightening or new to anything I have read before.

I dont feel that Ginger was the love of Elvis' life but I did appreciate her account of their life together. She read well and there is an honest feel about her side of the story.

"FINALLY THE TRUTH ABOUT ELVIS AND GINGER! LOVE IT!"
What did you love best about Elvis and Ginger?

I loved it all! Great Read! It was told with much honesty and depth and I believe Ginger not others who were not there but act like they were or others who were there but not behind closed doors with Elvis and Ginger.

What did you like best about this story?

The entire story from start to finish. It was a very poignant and tragic love story. I felt as though I was in the room with Ginger and Elvis.

What about Ginger Alden’s performance did you like?

She spoke clearly and precise and very heartfelt filled with much emotion in every word spoken.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh and cry as I felt for Ginger and Elvis and their great love in their relationship.

    Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loved Elvis to fully understand for once what really happened the last 9 months of his life and to understand Ginger and how she loved him in trying to help him and not leave him like others did. It spoke volumes of Ginger's character and I have nothing but the highest respect for this woman who was Elvis's fiancee and the last person to see him alive.

"A must reed for all Elvis fans!"

I haf to say, along with allot of Elvis fans I had a tainted opinion of Ginger. After this book i had to rethink things . Having been thrown into a world not allot of people could have fit into easily, she did her her best. This book really fills in some blanks. I give it a 5 star.

    "Beautiful love story."

Somewhere in the years of 1970 and 71 Elvis performed in Salt Lake City. As my cousin's wife and I went to the restroom at the Hotel Utah after dinner before the concert we were invited to an Elvis party after the show by a guard at the elevator. We were surprised to find ourselves in a room after the concert with only Elvis, his father, and his doctor. After a half an hour of visiting Elvis invited us to go to his party. After accompanying us on an elevator to a party room he became mobbed by a large group of fans. There was a huge buffet table and many people clamoring for Elvis' attention. We figured we had a special experience and our turn at his time was over so we asked for our coats. To now hear Ginger's story of the generous gentleman he was, it only confirmed my impression of Elvis during that
brief visit. Best wishes to Ginger and her family. THANKYOU for sharing your love story. Everyone misses Elvis.

    "Ginger's story"

I found Ginger's story to be spot on with the all the information I already knew. I can't imagine how a young girl must have felt the day her world came crashing down. The "all alone" feeling she must have felt. I have such a respect for this woman after listening to her story. I must say I found myself completely stopping and listening several times. As she tells the story, you can't help but place yourself along side her and the ride of a lifetime. Outstanding story, Job well done Ginger!

""She" was Elvis "Bridge" over Troubled waters."

Miss Ginger you did one Beautiful job in telling this bitter sweet Love Story. My heart goes out to you for you asked for nothing and in return you became the "Gift" Elvis needed in his Last Days. You were His "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." You became the "Woman" he Loved. I wish he could have lived long enough to have Married you. You would have continued to give him what he was Cheated out of in life and all he ever wanted...A Family who he could love and a Family who would Love him, yes "Someone to Love and to be Loved in Return." Your story touched my heart and I'm sure any others who choose to read or listen to it will be truly taken back. You were done wrong but as Elvis told you if it bothers you "Just kill it" You moved on. So sorry about your husband Ron's passing in 2015. May God Bless you for your honesty and Courage. Your story is a lesson for all who traverse this rough road we call life, Thank you for publishing your works...Thank you for Sharing your "Love Story Untold" till now...

    "Couldn't switch this off!"

I'm a huge Elvis fan. This is the first book that I've read that really paints a picture of the kind, generous, sensitive Person that Elvis was. Not the actor, not the musician but the actual person. At last someone who is not out to make money - Ginger comes across as elegant and truthful. It's so sad that they never had the opportunity to grow old together and Ginger often questions why she met Elvis and they shared happy times, but for too little time. I think Ginger was sent for Elvis to truly love and be loved in his last few months. Ginger was sent to care for him in a way that no one else would. Ginger was sent to listen, talk and pray with Elvis. And finally Ginger was sent to tell the world about the real man that was Elvis Presley.

Would you consider the audio edition of Elvis and Ginger to be better than the print version?

I only have the audio version but would like to get the print version too

    Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed listening to Ginger tell her story, it was enjoyable, and also extremely moving. She relates the story in such a way that you feel you are right there with her, and can visualize in your mind the places she describes with such detail. I am happy to know that Elvis was wanting to tour, wanting to make changes in his life and was not a man that was on the verge of giving up on life like others have tried to make out, he was looking forward to a future with Ginger. It is a book I will listen to again and again.
