Never an Elvis fan, but…

I was too young to be a Elvis fan and paid little attention to his family as I was much more interested in the Beatles. So, when this book appeared in Audible I took a chance. At first I thought Priscilla sounded weak but her giggles made all the difference in humanizing her experience.
It’s not like anything can change the past, but her relationship with Elvis had many layers. Thinking 1950’s, 1970’s, and moving forward to our me-too era.

With Lisa Marie’s recent death at a young age, I can only imagine how difficult it had to be for Priscilla to raise her in the environment and legacy of her famous father. Perhaps there will be another book although revealing family secrets has got to be difficult. Are we so bad for wanting to know the secrets? Maybe, but for me I have great sympathy for the family.

Beautiful Story

First and foremost, thank you Priscilla for sharing your love story with Elvis. You showed us Elvis's humanity. you showed us that Elvis struggled just like us, only his was harder because he was in the public eye. Thank you for showing us his soft side, his hard sides, and his family side. we will forever remember the king of rock n roll. RIP Elvis Presley.

good read. however, romanticizes abuse

as my title says....it's obvious she does what most victims do and romanticizes the relationship that was incredibly toxic. I just hope this is a teaching opportunity for vulnerable readers..

I'm a huge Elvis and Priscilla fan. listening to Priscilla read the book was wonderful and I felt like as a listener you were right there with them. Really brings the book to life. Thank you for sharing your story with us ❤️

I have read this book so many times it has falling apart, I so enjoyed listening to it from Priscilla she made it seem like it was just happening, I have so much respect for her and the family, a true testament to Elvis’s choice for a wife he knew her character and her love for him❤️
