Publisher's Summary

Werewolf Braxton Devereaux would do anything to protect his mother from his abusive father, even commit murder. Or so everyone assumes. Pack Law justice is swift and unforgiving when it comes to murder, and soon werewolf assassins are out to balance the scales - Braxton's life for his father's. On the run, Braxton flees to the anti-extradition state of Missouri on his Harley, but before he crosses the border, he is felled by an assassin's bullet - and an unsuspecting blonde.

Kate Wolph is in a legal battle to avoid losing her bed and breakfast to foreclosure. The last thing she needs is an injured wolf to care for, let alone a gorgeous man with blank eyes and a deadly smile. But the supernatural world of danger that surrounds him threatens to swallow more than just her life.

Can Braxton track down the real killer before the assassins find him, or will Pack Justice cost him not only his life, but the life of the only woman he's ever loved?

Entertaining!

Another highly entertaining story from Jodi Vaughn. This second book in the Rise of the Arkansas Werewolves is Braxton and Kate’s story. We met Braxton in the first book when he helped Damon and now it is Damon’s turn to help out Braxton. Braxton is on the run & shot by wolf assassins after being accused of a murder he didn’t commit. Kate finds Braxton, in wolf form, injured on her front step and she is immediately drawn to him. Once again we are entertained with action, suspense, romance and comic relief with granny and a group of female writers. Of course Jeffrey Kafer does an exceptional job with the narration bringing the story to life and making listening to this book extremely enjoyable. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am providing an unbiased review. Definitely worth purchasing.

Fantastic shifter series unlike any other!

I absolutely love this series! Although the books are written as stand alone, I recommend starting from the beginning just because the stories are so great that I don’t want you to miss out on a single one! I really liked the first book, and this one is even better! I couldn’t put it down and finished in one sitting. It’s full of action, mystery, romance and humor.....I laughed out loud numerous times throughout this story. I love all the characters and I was happy to see Granny again, though I must admit, the 7 women romance writers might’ve been my favorite this go round! To understand what I mean, give it a listen....you’ll be so glad you did! Jeffrey Kafer’s narration is great. However, there were a few times I wasn’t sure which character was speaking. Still, by far a most enjoyable performance. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Hilarious! Supenseful! Hot!

Jodi Vaughn's writing is really enjoyable! This book has it all: Suspenseful, Hilarious, Hot! I love the two main characters, Kate and Braxton. They are great together and their chemistry is strong. I also liked to see the characters in the previous book, Damon, Ava, Barrett, Jayden and Granny! I totally love the romance writers, guests at the B & B. They are hilarious! Really! Also, I never saw coming the twist, at the end! I love the HEA. I'd like to read more about Jayden, Barrett and Beau, the Vet and Kate's friend. Of course, I don't like the Assassins (Killian, Brutus and Lorcan), but their interactions with the romance writers are hilarious! I really enjoyed my listening and I can't wait for the next book in the Series! I want it now!! The narration is really great and easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review. Now I have to wait for the next book…

Blood Lust

Wonderfully narrated by Jeffrey Kafer.

Jeffrey brought both Braxton and Kate to life but also the world they lived in, the rules, the desires and fears.

The suspense, intrigue and sensuality were very well written and narrated.

Jodi wrote an engaging story, created rounded characters and the world building was well done and easy to fall into.

Better Than The First

Braxton watched his Dad beat his mom all of his life but could not convince her to leave him. One day he arrives home to find his father dead. His mother thinks he did it so he is left to run. And that is just the beginning. The action, and love and yes sex go on from there. The story builds up to an amazing ending just like the first book. Well worth the listen. The narrator keeps you on the edge from beginning to end. The author and narrator are a good combo. Keep him for the whole series. I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review.

Top Notch New Series!

I was gifted this audiobook with a request for an honest review. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this series. Book two has Braxton running for his life as the wolf assassins stalk are given orders to kill him for a crime he was falsely accused of. The romance is hot! The mystery is intriguing. The characters are familiar as the cast of book one is actively involved. Talented writing and kick ass narration make this a winner! 👍🏻👍🏻 Two Thumbs Up!

This one catches ahold of you immediately.

Braxton is a wolf shifter we met in the first books of the series. He was the bartender of the strip club who helped Branden and Eva rescue Jayden. He also rescued one of the strippers from rape. He was fired for helping the stripper as he injured the rapist. Braxton returns home to find his abusive father beaten to death in the kitchen. His mother sees him leaning over her dead husband with blood on him and accuses him of murder. He is arrested, but manages to escape on the way to jail. He returns home for his motorcycle then heads to a state where there is no extradition. Three wolf assassins chase him down, shoot him in his shoulder on a mountainous road where he falls down a very deep and rocky cliff. After waking he manages to drag himself in wolf form to a B & B which has a safe feel to it. He whines on the porch until Kate finds him and takes him into her home. She calls her friend who is a veterinarian who treats him for the gunshot wound. This is a beautifully written and narrated romance. Both lead characters are sensitive and loving.

A good group of characters

I didn’t read the first book and still enjoyed this one. I think it can stand alone. Narration was great and I loved Granny and the group of romance writers that stayed at the B&B. They made the story.

Very enjoyable

This was a really fun read with lots of laugh out loud moments. The ladies' writing group constantly behaved inappropriately around the men and I found it hilarious. I couldn't help laughing at the men's reactions. There was plenty of action, suspense and sweet romance. Characters from the first book helped Braxton with his problem with the assassins and they made the story that bit more enjoyable. The narration was excellent. I voluntarily reviewed an audio review copy.

Fast paced!

Loved it! It has shifters, bikers, mystery, danger and romance. Braxton is blamed for the murder for his abusive father though he isn't guilty. Innocent until proven guilty is not the shifter way. Shifter justice is meted out without really questioning the suspect. Kate owns a bed and breakfast that she is about to loose. On top of that she finds and saves an injured wolf. Then the wolf turns into a man. The plot thickens and twists as Brandon and Kate save each other and discover their life mate in the process. I enjoyed this audiobook and fully intend to listen to the other books in the series. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
