Publisher's summary

Two fierce armies collide in the finale of the Under the Northern Sky trilogy, a thrilling and savagely visceral epic fantasy from Leo Carew, an author who "will remind readers of George R. R. Martin, David Gemmell, or . . . Joe Abercrombie." (Booklist)

Albion continues to be divided by revolt and bloodshed, as alliances collapse and are made anew.

Driven obsessively for glory, the upstart Bellamus and his exiled queen Aramilla are marshalling resistance and building a powerful army.

Returning to the Hindrunn, Keturah is forced to fend for herself, battling enemies on all sides just when she is most in need of a place of safety.

And all the while, the young Black Lord must deal not only with the aftermath of a great betrayal, but the cold shadow of the Kryptea, threatening to destroy everything he has fought for...

Absolutely great!

I loved this trilogy, EPIC characters that are so captivating and deep, you will find yourself cheering for them and thinking about them after you put away the book. Series is dark and crazy emotional (at least for myself) fantasy that feels like a believable story. Great job. I didn't have so much fun in a long time. Fantastic book. Politics, epic scale battles, twists, adventure, breathing world of giants and creatures.. I feel like there is so much more to be pulled out of this world imagined by the author.. Crazy potential to continue... Maybe with another trilogy?.. Please! Lol

Not even finished

Pure awesomeness! Just halfway finished. Don't want it to end. It's time for a TV show.

Loved this series!

I cried like a baby at the end. To bring such emotion with words is truly the pinnacle of an author’s talent by simply wielding imagination with expertise. Great job also on the narration. It brought it all to life. Beautiful and terrible battles. I enjoyed every swing of the sword.

Solid Conclusion

I don't know how to feel now. This story was well written but unsatisfyingly painful. I feel much the same as I did after several seasons of Game of Thrones or the books they were written after. I don't think I have ever teared up at the end of a book series, but I did at this ending. It is definitely worth the read or listen, but do not expect to come away from the end with anything but a sense of loss.

First time I’m sad I finished a book

This book was so good that getting to the end of it was just devastating. All around an amazing book and I hope there is more to come. Now all I want to do is go back in time in this novel’s world and sword fight along side these heroes.

Amazing conclusion to the series.

This series is probably one of my favorite I have listened to. it's a fantastic story and captures your attention making it hard to stray away from the book. The ending was not the one I was hoping for but definitely was a brilliant one.

Heart Wrenching

This story has compelled me for the past four years. This final chapter in the story of the Anakim found me holding a breath at every turn just as the other books have done. This story has moved me to tears many times, and in its conclusion, I feel as if I have lost a close friend. I don’t remember how I came across this series, but it has become one of my favorite. However, this third installment is, in a word, disappointing. It takes the character development from the past two books and seems to throw it all away. I feel like this book had the potential to be a very great conclusion to the story, even if the author were to keep the ending. But the story damned the listener's hope to then build it back, only to trample on it again. I still very much enjoyed the book and find myself pondering on its lessons. It just was not the book I had expected.
