Royals of Villain Academy: Books 1 - 4

By: Eva Chase

Narrated by: Meg Sylvan, Stephen Dexter

A long-lost heir to dark magic royalty. A brutal power she never wanted. But these villains aren't giving her a choice.

When mages slaughter my parents in front of me, I have no time to mourn. The murderers drag me into a society of dark magic where power is created by fear.

It turns out I'm the long-lost heir to one of their royal families—guaranteed to possess a talent even more vicious than most. And I'm trapped here until I accept my role.

But I don't want these wicked skills I have no idea how to tap into. I don't want the mansion or the fancy clothes or the massive bank account I inherited.

I especially don't want the attention of my fellow heirs: four scorching-hot, arrogant men who rule this place and crush anyone who doesn't kowtow.

All I really want is my family back... but I can't have that. So I'll take what I can get to avenge the people I loved.

The moment I master the dark power inside me, I’m burning this place to the ground.

Captivating and Magical Listen!

Wow! This is my second series by Eva. I fell in LOVE with her Flirting with Monsters series and was not disappointed by this one either. Rory is strong-willed (sometimes to a fault), but the same could be said about her guys a lot of the time. It makes for a nice push-and-pull between the characters. I love that we get some steam in the first book, but that the angst continues. We still get that romantic suspense without being completely deprived of the steamy goodness.

Oftentimes, I will have an audiobook that I only listen to on my evening walk, while I keep another book that I read during the day. But this one pulled me straight into that world and from the start it has been my main (and only) read. I was a bit worried about diving into a longer series as I've recently preferred shorter ones, but this still has me hooked at the end of book four. I can't wait to dive into the next audio boxset! Bring on the romance and plot twists - I'm ready!

As for the narration, both get 5/5. I've gained a couple new favorite narrators from this listen. They both speak clearly and bring the stories to life with their character voices. They also do sounds, which I love. A lot of narrators will *read* the sounds vs actually making them. It sounds more natural, like you are hearing the character speak, and I really enjoyed listening to them both!

Couldn’t put it down

Overall engaging story. May be too steamy for some readers. Interesting plot. Enjoyed the value of getting it as a box set too.

Steamy hot series

The story so far is really good. I've been listening to these 4 books like I'm obsessed with the story. hehehe. It starts out slow on the first book, but by the 4th book, I'm hooked and now am getting ready for books 5 thru 8. I really like the way Eva Chase writes her books as well as the performance of both the narrators. Glad I tried Eva Chase as an author I have never listened too.

Great Read

I love this box set. I couldn't put it down. Narrator was excellent I would listen to them again.

Royals of Villain Academy: Books 1–4 (Villain Academy Box Sets)

Royals of Villain Academy: Books 1–4 (Villain Academy Box Sets) ~ Eva Chase absolutely nailed the dark-academy, enemies-to-lovers vibe with this opening set. The first four books are pure addictive binge-material—think brutal initiations, ruthless classmates, and a heroine who refuses to stay down no matter what’s thrown at her. I loved how the story balanced the danger and betrayal of the Academy with those heart-stopping sparks of romance. Each book ended with just enough cliffhanger to keep me saying “just one more chapter”… until suddenly it was 3 a.m. If you enjoy bully romance with real emotional growth (and some deliciously messy twists), this collection is worth every page.
