Great dark fantasy Reverse Harem with so many twists.

Holy cow!

This is a good series. There's so much action and things going on. Plus all the twists and turns that will keep you going. The narrators did a good job relaying emotion and differences between the characters. I recommend this listen make sure you have time to binge because that's what you'll want to do.

Absolutely hate it when characters are “recaptured”

I loved books 1-2. Hated how book 3 started from the first go. After searching online I discovered where the story gets back on track; I have to skip to book 5 just to get back to where the characters were at the end of book 2. That is correct, 2 whole books I have to skip. Absolutely insane.

I waited so long to get the complete series and it’s basically unreadable. I’ve read a lot by Eva Chase but this series is some sadistic level BS.

Wow that was such a wild ride there was so much turmoil and heartache to keep up with that I thought it wouldn’t end! But I loved it despite all that! Great conclusion!

Yes, this one was a bit drawn out

I'm a fan of Eva Chase. I pick up her books once the entire series is available. This story was unusually monotonous: escape, have adventures/sex, get recaptured - rinse, repeat. The main characters were remarkably naive. I gave up and listened at 2x speed for most of that last two books.

Thoroughly enjoyable. It took me some time to get through it all. But it was soooooo worth it. I loved being able to go through all books in the series

I absolutely loved this series! I think this may be my favorite series I have read that is written by Eva Chase.

Could have been so much better

5 and 4 stars withheld because I’m growing weary of the cliffhangers and non resolution. I’m just starting book 4 at this point. If there isn’t a resolution by the end of book 5, I’m done and that is because I bought them as a set. I would probably put it down and possibly forget about it if not for that. I’m over it already. At first I was a huge fan. It started so good! Now I’m irritated and I feel like I might stop listening. You’re ruining a good series by drawing it out. Why can’t they get away and then have the story continue so they can the get the bad guys rather than them getting caught over and over and over. Same book over and over again. It’s getting stupid at this point. The further it goes the less I like it.

Half way through book 5 and I just can’t. Put it down over the weekend thinking that a break would help, but now it is worse. It’s become tedious and I just don’t care how it ends. This should have been finished two books ago. Maybe I’ll finish but not any time soon.

Overall the story of is great but the author forgot a few minor details, like how the character was able to scream through a whole house even though she couldn't see everyone but then later the character kept claming she couldn't attack unless she had a clear view of a person. I feel like nobody gave the main character legal advice seeing that she's the only remaining heir of the last villain, she could have inherited everything if he didn't have a will in place,She could have meet any other family like cousins and parents of her mother. It was never really addressed whether he had a will or not. I feel like the character could have come out and made a statement at a news station about how her father had some psychological issues after her mother and brother were killed, he went crazy thinking it was a bunch of monsters which is why he hired a bunch of vigilantes to fight ,"the Monsters," this would have given her legitimacy and room to come forward and take over the companies and it because he is not mentally fit etc.. I definitely would have loved if the main character had gone back to that one girl who tried to help her's family and friends and apologize. Just letting them know that in her last moments she was trying to be a kind person, she couldn't do that maybe she could have sent some funds because funerals are expensive to cushion the financial blow that would have had on the family or visit her grave. I don't know if I miss this part as well but what happened to all the research that were in the backpack before the main character and her men were abducted?I had so much anxiety when they kept repeating that they were blood at first because we didn't know their actual families (did other directors contribute too?) I loves the story thank you to the author and the voice actors for sharing it.

Okay storyline but no flow

I love Eva Chase’s books, but this series just didn’t flow for me. The narrators had no emotion, and it just seemed to take forever to get through this series, but I did and I don’t think I’m going to listen to the sister series.

#1: Shattered Vow



POV:
You’re a literal, living science experiment and just used as a novelty and for others’ profit but … it still manages to ... GET WORSE?! Howwww… (Read the book to find out!)

I’ve been dying to read this one for ages, solely due to that stunning cover. I went into this completely blind, only knowing that Chase wrote it (and to be fair, she does always deliver) and that I love the cover. It did not steer me wrong.

Has a bit of a confusing start but, not really? If that makes sense… it’s intentionally vague about some things while building some very interesting lore.

Captivity.
F!ght-to-the-d34th scenes.
Betrayals, everywhere.
Self-sacrifice.
Found family.
Reconnections.
Catastrophic trials.

^So much more, was too busy being lost in this world to take notes.
Excellent, instantly needed book 2. Recommended read. 4 stars.

#2: Monstrous Power

SHE’s the monster … but they are too …
And she’s still working on the fallout of all the ways they’ve wronged her.

We get some answers but the kind that lead to more questions—really, you just need to read this series in order, IMO. It’s all more juicy that way.

Shadow magic.
Magical(ish) mate-bonds.
Living science experiments.
Protective men and FMC.
Groveling.
Tentacles!
Protective alphas but … SHE is also very protective her of men.
Angst … so much angst.
Action / fight scenes.
Living on the run / always moving.
Mysteries.
A war is brewing…

Overall, it left me needing more, and it was a fun, wild ride.
Onto book 3.

4 stars.

#3: Captured Fate

POV:
You wake up in restraints, basically mid-war, and everyone you love is … who-knows-where.

This installment brings lots of being on the run, almost non-stop action and scheming and new/old connections and friendships.


This series will likely have a tight hold on you and I recommend just grabbing the omnibus because … well, just save yourself the angst.


Communal living.
Training.
Reunions.
Found family.
Scheming.
Extortion.

The drama is non-stop, there’s lots of action and it’s just plain fun. 4 stars.

#4: Heartless Foe

Another fun installment and in this one I couldn’t help but admire Chase’s skills, as despite all the chaos, scheming, plotting, action, drama, etc. the leads still find time to work on their relationship/s.

Never a dull moment in this series!
The states just got even higher and … don’t have it in me to list all the tropes again.

I was an exciting installment—4 stars.

#5: Fearsome Dream

As I embarked on the final installment of this very fun ride, I found myself glad that first book had caught my attention with that gorgeous cover, as this has been a blast.

This was a fun and necessary installment; Chase manages to advance both the plot and the relationship/s, throw in more mysteries and precarious predicaments, even higher stakes, and eventually pack it all up.

Plus, attempting / plotting, etc. to rescue kids—packs lots of feels and is chock-full of fun scheming.

Overall:
Fun, really nice advancement and wrap-up for this series. Appreciate the inclusion of the bonus epi as well.
