Publisher's Summary

***Academy Reverse Harem***

Magic exists. I know - it’s in my blood.

Unfortunately, not all people from magical bloodlines have powers, and at 22, I’m several years past the age they usually appear. So I’ve resigned myself to a boring, magic-less life.

Then something strange happens....

I get stuck in the middle of a bar fight, and instead of just punching the guy back, I blow a hole in the wall.

So...I guess I do have powers. But they’re unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This shit is definitely not normal.

And it seems the magical authorities agree, because they give me a choice: either I go to school to learn to control my crazy new magic, or they’ll take it away. Permanently.

Now, if I can just survive the bitchy, mean girls determined to take me down a peg; the mysterious attacks on students; the three hot-as-hell guys who don’t seem turned off by my prickly exterior; and the professor who makes me long for detention, maybe I’ll get out of here in one piece.

Wouldn’t bet on it though.

Welcome to the Academy of Unpredictable Magic.

Spark is the first book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series, a medium-burn reverse harem story intended for ages 18 plus, featuring a badass chick and the four sexy men who fall in love with her.

Great academy story!

Sadie Moss is a new author to me.. and I am honestly a little embarrassed about that because this book was so fantastic. I was lucky enough to win a copy of the audiobook from the author on facebook. And she gained a fan with me. I have already purchased Bound by Magic which is an audiobook of hers. I am super excited to have found a new author.

This book we have a girl bartender, Elliot. She grew up with extremely magical parents but she herself has no power.. or so she thought. This book is about Elliot going to a magical academy full of others just like her. She is learning who she is and who she wants to be. We also have four amazing guys, each with their own quirks. I can't wait to get to know them more in the next book.

Sarah Puckett did a very good job bringing these characters to life. I can't wait to see what happens next!

The most unlikable main character ever.

The main character is an idiot. Not in a ditsy way. She goes against all sound logic just to be contrary. She's terrible to perfect strangers with no provocation. It would take a twist of fate, magical insta-lust, and some of that "I can see deeply into your soul and tell exactly who you are just by staring" nonsense to make anyone want to date this girl or even just be her friend. and that's exactly what happens.

She is the cliched "I have been hurt so I'm going to take it out on anyone who comes into contact with me" character. She is the early 20's cliche of constantly insisting that she is an adult and behaves maturely and better than those around her. She also complains about the mean girls at school being rude but is a hypocrite because she treats complete strangers like dirt too.

Sadie Moss is a good writer and keeps the story well paced and interesting, but her characters are lazily shaped. This plot is also ridiculously similar to ACADEMY OF ASSASSINS which is also an RH. The mystery is the exact same. It is also similar to her own story BOUND BY MAGIC in that the main character finds out later in life than most that she has magic. Her writing skill does make for an entertaining read especially if you don't roll your eyes to hard at the MC's "prickly" behavior.

I love the story but the narrator ruins the story

I've already read the book but wanted to have the audio book too, since I love the story so much.
Unfortunately I can't stand the narrator's voice/tone/style. To me it honestly feels like the narrator can't be bothered to try - like she doesn't really want to be doing this.

Regardless, the story is easy and fun. The characters are likable, and I really adore that the MC is in her 22's (versus all the 15-18 year olds). The world-building is interesting; I want to see more from this world in the future!

Adult Academy romance

This was a great start to a magic academy series with characters all over 18. I loved the teacher/student relationship an the live/hate relationship between the heroine and two of her leading men the most. I look forward to listening to the rest of this series! #audiobookobsession

Fun and entertaining

I really enjoyed listening to Elliot take on life as a magic user. She is feisty and determined with great taste in men! I was slightly disappointed that there wasn’t more time dedicated to the magic Elliot possesses, the author really focused more on character relationship development and the mystery surrounding the academy. Regardless, it was a great start to the series and I can’t wait for the next

Amazing Story! Fantastic Narration🎧 Magical!

This is a great book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that grabs your attention and holds it to the very end. Sadie Moss is a master at creating an imaginative world where both magical and non-magical beings exist and still manages to keep it realistic and relatable. Her characters are complex and well developed. Elliot comes from a magical bloodline but did not develop any magical powers like most do while in their teens. At 22 she wrote magic off, figuring it was not going to happen for her. Then one night out of no where the magic with in booms out of her. Not knowing what happened she wakes up handcuffed to a hospital bed being questioned by Magical Authorities. Learning she has a rare power, unpredictable magic she is given an option to go school to learn to control it or give it up completely. She chooses school and enters the Academy. This turns out to be a real adventure for her, first with unfriendly roommates who give her a hard time, then seeing the three gorgeous guys she swooned over while working in the bar as well as finding out one of her teachers is someone she had a one night stand with. Technically these are just the people she meets, the real adventure is when things start going array in the school, someone is up to no good and she winds up getting caught up in uncovering who. Along with her new friends, Asher, Dmitri and Cam. I really liked these three and their building relationship. I also liked Roman and am looking forward to see where their relationships go. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is plenty of drama, twists, angst, a good bit of mystery, suspense and thrilling action that will take you to the edge of your seat. Some hot romance too. Sadie Moss thank you for another great story.

Sarah Puckett is a fabulous narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She sets the perfect tone for this story, you can hear the characters emotions including fear in her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen🎧

Great start to the series

I really enjoyed listening to Spark, I have wanted to read or listen to Sadie Moss’ books for a while as I have read great things about her books. Spark is the first in the series, where Elliot comes into her powers, later than expected, and is sent to the Academy of Unpredictable Magic and then the fun begins.
I really liked Elliot, she was stubborn but sassy too, she doesn’t take any rubbish from anyone. Being a RH book there are 4 love interests in this book, all 4 hot in their own way but there was one I was rooting for and that’s Dimitri. I think it was the like/hate thing they had going on.
The narrator Sarah Plunkett is great, she has narrated a few books I have listened too and she manages to capture me every time with her voice. There was a little bit of scratchy interference in the recording but nothing too distracting.

More please!!

Loved this story! I think it's now one of my favorites by Sadie Moss! The men were hot, funny and yummy!! It's rated a medium burn and I would agree. Lots of sexual tension and two hot steamy scenes! The ending is great because it gives you closure but leaves the door cracked open lol The narrator was Sarah Puckett and I just have to say she has never been a disappointment and she continues to score another hit with this narration. Loved it and can't wait for more!!!

Whoa!

Wow. This had me glued to the edge of my seat. The writing and narration was both executed excellent. I do wish the narrator could have done a accent for dima. And I do wished Elliot was able to get closer to him as she did the other guys. So far she was only intimate with Roman with a few kisses exchanged with Asher and cam, so it doesn’t get into heavy stuff right away. Almost a slow burn. I cant decide who I’m rooting for more with the guys, dima or Roman. Both are a mystery being dark broody types. I can’t wait to read more in the series. It’s like adult Harry Potter meets marvel with a reverse harem twist. I haven’t read anything like it before.

It's a fast paced, full of sizzling sexual tension and sexy times *fans myself* that keeps my headphone glued to my ears lol. so so good and the chemistry between Elliot and her guys specially Roman and Dimitri oh wow it's scorching. The narrative helps a lot because Sara Puckett has the sexiest voice ever, she can do a male voice like no other oh gods she is good thank you.
