Publisher's summary

A game of Gods. A clash of Titans.

Ancient Israel thought she was bringing unity, progress, and change. She brought Baal, the storm god of Canaan.

870 BC. Israel. Beautiful Jezebel of Tyre marries King Ahab of Israel to bring peace in a time of war. But, when Jezebel builds a temple of Baal in the heart of Israel, the “mad prophet” Elijah challenges her to a duel of deities.

In the supernatural realm, spiritual warfare breaks out as the demonic Canaanite Watchers led by Baal battle to take the land back from the Archangels who protect the remnant of Israel.

And so begins the war of gods and men.

Join the battle in this heart-racing epic story of supernatural conflict, action, and love based on the Bible and ancient historical research by a respected Christian author.

This is a story in a spin-off series to Chronicles of the Nephilim. What if the pagan gods of the nations were fallen angelic Watchers from God’s throne?

Jezebel: Harlot Queen of Israel is part of the series Chronicles of the Watchers that charts the influence of spiritual warfare on human history, just like Chronicles of the Nephilim and Chronicles of the Apocalypse.

If you liked "Screwtape Letters" you'll LOVE this

Our whole family loved Screwtape Letters and bought it in every format available. IMHO Brian Godawa has done an even better job than C.S. Lewis of drawing the listener "inside the head" of characters like Jezebel and other "wicked" characters in a way that is entertaining and thought-provoking -- and sometimes painfully realistic. I have over 150 Audibles, and you can count on your fingers the ones I have listened to multiple times, and this is one. The author has unusual skills both in writing and performing stories -- his voice characters are colorful, distinctive and believable. Enjoy.

Once again Brian Godawa delivers! Jezebel follows Brian's wonderful imaginative storytelling with strong biblical truths. This was truly another enjoyable read and I can't wait to get started on Brian's next book.

I can't get enough of Brian's books. his books have opened my mind to religion and faith. I recommend his books to anyone that is curious about the Bible but has a hard time understanding the many translations.

Godawa brings the narrative to life!

This author uses his knowledge of the Ancient Near East and his imagination to fill in the details in a way that the real message of the story is not lost but merely amplified for modern readers.

This is not a replacement for the biblical account. With this in mind, certain details that Godawa brings to life from the supernatural realm may seem strange or off-putting to some but after we take into consideration what St. Paul described in his letter to Ephesus then it all seems to make sense.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph. 6:12 NIV)

Remember this comes from scripture so expect the spiritual element to be woven into what may otherwise be an approximation of the rise and fall of this ancient queen, an influential woman that I believe serves as an example of one that was heavily influenced by the spiritual realm and her pagan heritage, one that fully embraced the empty promises of fallen entities.

It is for the reasons I aforementioned that make this account utterly brilliant.

Can't Wait For the Movie On This Fantastic Book

Super well researched. Jezebel and the spirits/gods behind the actions people did then and still do, gets fully displayed. It promotes understanding in ways not usually thought about. This spiritual warfare is still happening, for these exact same reasons, whether people realize this or not! Timing for this coming out couldn't be better. Jezebel/Isabel and Ahab become fully fleshed people with relatable motivations, even though I disagreed thoroughly with their mindset. Athaliah's training by Jezebel is put into a context that is still very evident today. Now, a book about Elisha, please Brian. There's nearly nothing about him, and this story has re-wetted my appetite for that.

Brian Godawa made the O T come to life once again!

Wow, what a great book! After reading/ listening to this story, I would encourage any of you to read the Ahab and Jezebel stories. Also, you may have a good chance to read the other Kings and Queens as coming to life also. But you got to read the word. Brian Godawa first off, has definitely read the bible passages and points out other things that some of us tend to miss or just read over.
This story I saw glimpse of fairy tale evil Queens and Kings. I saw glimpses of our government now days, I saw glimpses of a hero and loyal commander/ servant. I saw glimpses of animated cartoon characters and even glimpses of our normal lives. Then to add a kinda 3D vision too it Brian shows to ways the spiritual realm is may be involved along side our lives. But most of all, Brian shows God's Sovereignty and ultimate power over All.
If you like this book, read the books, Chronicles of the Nephilum too!
