Publisher's summary

"You want me to tell of how I broke the world."

It's the year 641 since the beginning of everything, and when Eve passes away, she leaves Adam, the only man on earth who remembers everything since they walked in Eden.

When Enoch, God's newly appointed prophet, decides to collect the stories of the faithful from previous generations, he finds Adam in desperate need to confess the dark secrets he's held onto for too long.

Beside a slowly burning bonfire in the dead of night, Adam tells his story in searing detail. From the beginning of life, to how he broke the world, shattered Eve's heart, and watched his family crumble.

Will Enoch uncover what led so many of Adam's children away from God? And will Adam find the redemption and forgiveness he longs for?

"Eden is in a class by itself. It's biblical fiction with an emotional depth that laid my heart bare. Not only does Brennan McPherson vividly describe the first days of human awakening; he also masterfully unmasks sin's effects through the broken relationship of Adam and Eve." (Mesu Andrews, Christy award-winning author of Isaiah's Daughter)

Eden

Thanks for this work of fiction about the first family. I think Christians need to think deeply about scripture, keeping it lofty, while bringing it down to the practical way it was lived out. There are many lessons to be learned from our meditation of scripture, putting ourselves in the roles of those written about and in the situations they lived out. We learn more about our
Lord that way, and about ourselves, as long as we stick with what scripture says.

Amazing!

This was much better than I expected it to be, especially with the author narrating it! It made the beginning of time so much more realistic to me. After the fall Adam and Eve were completely miserable. I caught myself wanting to pray for them! I can't wait to listen to the rest in the series.

I'm stunned at the perspectives this book gives! 💜

All too often we look at creation week, as just a quick set of events that escalated quickly, and there was not much emotion to it! To stumble upon this book, at a time when God is showing me how much He loved us then and loves us now, has made me weep whilst listening to this book!

I am now looking for the rest of this author's works. Well done! God be praised for your labor of love and faithfulness.

Fresh look at Adam and Eve

I really enjoyed the “what If” approach to applying some logical thinking about the most ancient of all Bible stories. A look at how the cursed could have played out between Adam and Eve resonated with me. The narration was also fantastic. Well worth the purchase!

Great story

I love a fictional story that is based on truth and this book does just that. Many times we hear the bible stories but we miss the little pebbles of insight. Mr.McPherson picks up those pebbles and tosses them into the story to create a very plausible situation or outcome.
I also enjoyed that it is written from Adam's point of view. Great job. I am starting Flood as soon as I submit this reveiw.

Righteous Thought Provoking Entertainment

Today in our culture so much entertainment provokes thoughts about sexuality and spirituality in direct opposition to biblical teachings. It’s at once refreshing and tantalizing to have this fictional work provoking the mind in ways that are theologically sound. It’s definitely a book to be shared and I hope it will become a movie!

Wonderful Storytelling of Truth

The only part I found difficult was enduring the author calling the sheep wool fur. It is fleece. He describes wonderfully the process of fulling shorn fleece. When done by accident, like when putting a wool sweater in the wash, it's felted. But the process of fulling is an actual, historically accurate method of creating a stable fabric.

Now, because I am a spinner, and a knitter, I would happily jump into a long, winding digression of the craft, the minute of wool working... But this isn't the spot.

I truly enjoyed this. We very often fail to really understand what is happening, and why, because we don't consider what is not said. Eve had to live long enough to have at a minimum, one son, and one daughter. With no other humans on earth, her only midwife had to be her husband. We cannot know the conditions outside of the garden of Eden, but there were four rivers, so that it wouldn't be reasonable for them to die of dehydration- one of them could walk one day to one river, and back, and their raging thirst wouldn't have allowed them distance enough to get further.

The one part I was disappointed about was the reason the entrance required a flaming sword and cheribim. It was in no way needed to prevent Adam and Eve from returning. This subject really wasn't discussed, but now, I want to read the next in the series!
