Story
From best-selling author Toni Sorenson comes a captivating account of the beloved Old Testament story of Ruth and Naomi. Ruth and Naomi: Whithersoever Thou Goest is the inspiring tale of two women’s matchless devotion, envisioned as never before. It is a time of famine and despair in the land: crops are failing, idol-worship is widely practiced, and those who follow the God of Israel are cruelly oppressed.

Story
My name will mean nothing to you, but my story is a re-telling of the greatest story ever told and should mean everything to everyone. My story comes forth now because now is the promised day when satanic doubt spreads like black ink, threatening to blot out His very name, to reduce Him to nothing more than a teacher, to erase the eternal truths He taught and Lived. That cannot happen. Jesus was who He said He was. I know because I was there in the shadows of His holy footsteps. His miracles were real. I know because I am one of those miracles.

Jubilant, he joyfully prepares for their departure, only to learn that his family, grown comfortable in the pagan culture of Babylon, wants to remain. Zechariah, Iddo's oldest grandson, feels torn between his grandfather's ancient beliefs and the comfort and success his father enjoys in Babylon. But he soon begins to hear the voice of God, encouraging him to return to the land given to his forefathers.

Publisher's Summary
Elijah’s friends are dead, and without a miracle, he’s next.
Elijah is a young prophet studying the Torah, when the soldiers of Queen Jezebel burn his school and massacre his teachers. He escapes, barely, but finds himself on the run and hunted as Queen Jezebel attempts to stamp out the worship of the Hebrew God in Israel and replace it with the worship of Ba’al.
As the queen’s soldiers close in on him, Elijah discovers a little known promise in the Scroll of Deuteronomy and prays for something impossible - that God would turn the skies to bronze and stop the rain on the kingdom that has abandoned him.
And God says yes.
As drought and famine grip the cloudless land of Israel, God tells Elijah to hide and sends him to the land of Tyre, to a widow and her son who are on the edge of starvation. In Tyre Elijah finds a darkness at the heart of the city, a darkness that threatens to consume Israel next. But even if he survives, will Israel listen to his warning?
This is a re-imagining of the story of Elijah from the Bible.

Great book
This was recommended by a friend. I'm glad I listened to her and got the book. This is a great addition to the original story. It adds personality and depth to that story. At times I found it hard to stop listening knowing I had things to attend to. This is one of the best I've listened to this year.

Excellent Biblical Fiction
The story of Elijah/Elisha has always been one of my favorites. I was very pleased, entertained, and even inspired by this book. It’s biblical accuracy was astounding and the author’s creative expression blended very well with the biblical facts and cultural aspects of the story.
It isn’t very often that I find a Christian book truly inspiring, at least in terms of fictional works, but this one was exceptional. I even opened my Bible a few times while listening to this audiobook, just so I could find the specific verses that were mentioned. It has inspired me to read my Bible more and truly see the people of the Bible as heroes as much as real people who faced trials and triumphs just as we do everyday.
Very uplifting, invoking, and entertaining. 100% recommend this to Christian readers of all ages everywhere.
Oh! And the narrator did a wonderful job too!
