This is such a sweet and sexy second chance story. Nick had his work cut out for him in trying to win Ellie over. As always Tracy Marks did an excellent job with narration. Jack Jr. was such a cute little boy and grew up into a wonderful man.

Yes.

I enjoy Tracy's narration. She has a way of bringing characters to life.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I appreciated the story needed the angst. In many cases, the angst is over the top and is just a tool to make the characters suffer.

In After You, the characters suffered lose and we saw them deal with it in a believable way. It fir the story and made it much more emotional.

Do you think After You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. I think it left Nick and Ellie in a good place.

A second chance story that touched your heart!

What did you love best about After You?

I really enjoyed the story of a second chance love for Ella Jane and Nick. It was emotional and touching but there is humor and laughter involved. I can relate to the story of Ella Jane losing her first love and the struggles she deals with in trying to pursue a second love.

What other book might you compare After You to and why?

The boy next Door by Ella James. It is the same type of second chance love story that brings out the emotional side for me.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Tracy Marks?

I think so.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes....the letters from Jack Sr. to Nick and then his son! It was emotional and touching and made me cry!

Any additional comments?

I read the book first so I knew what the story was about when I listened to it. I had a little bit of a hard time trying to keep the voices straight when she was reading the other characters with different voices. The audible story was still good though overall!

A story of second chances...

After You by Stephanie Rose is a story of second chances. Ellie and Jack Jr. have lived with the loss of Jack Sr. for years. Ellie is doing a great job raising Jack Jr. and isn't looking to get into a relationship, even when Nick, the super handsome and charming firefighter that she had met years ago at a wedding, comes back into her life and shows interest in Ellie and Jack. Nick continues his advances, and Ellie is dealing with her unresolved feeling about moving on from her husband Jack, even years after he passed away.

This story is sweet and emotional, and has an HEA. Nick and Jack Jr's relationship is sweet and Jacks' letter are a nice touch. I felt that the story could have moved a bit quicker overall, but it was still a cute story. I honestly didn't have any extreme emotional reactions like some of the other reviewers, though there are plenty of books that have made me cry and brought out emotional reactions. This just wasn't one of them.

Tracy Marks did a good job with the narration, though I would have liked to have heard a bit more emotion in the narration. I think that likely would have helped get me more invested in Ellie and Nick's story. She did a good job with both the female and male characters and I would definitely check out other books narrated by her. Finding Love Again

Beautiful but also heartbreaking story.
None can every understand how hard it is to move forward after losing your first love.
Nick is worthy and a beautiful soul, and sometimes you just have to live again.

Stephanie Rose wrote such an emotional book and Tracy Marks did such a heartfelt performance. This book is full of so many feelings from despair to love to humor and everything in between. The story is well written and is a standalone listen. There are some tearful moments, scenes where I laughed out loud, and love. I received this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily written this review. My review is my opinion of the book and not a synopsis of it. I will definitely look for more books by the author and narrator.

the reader was a bit monotone and stilted. and the book was predictable. it's only ok.

Amazing story

Such a sweet and heartbreaking story of all times. I loved that Jack was a big part of the story and his letters! Nick, Nick, Nick can I have one of these please?? He is everything you could ever want in a man!!

As always Tracy Marks does an amazing job narrating this book.

This is a must listen for any romance book lover!

Pleasant Surprise

I really enjoyed the narration of this book. Ms. Marks did a phenomenal job as Nick. The story was really well written. This book tugged at many emotional strings. A great love story that included heartbreak, sacrifice but in the end The happily ever after we all want.

Having read Ms.Rose's work before I couldn't wait to listen to this one! I really enjoyed this heartbreaking tale!! Just hearing the Prologue I was already choking up. My emotions were all over the place throughout. I liked the fact that it tackled tough subjects and that it was relatable. What the heroine had to go through shattered me inside. Things weren't sugar coated and I'm glad because it helped me connect even more with these characters.


Ms.Rose showed the painful journey of trying to live again. She also showed how difficult it can be to open your heart to another after so much has happened and the beauty that love can bring. This is definitely one of the best second chance romances that I've ever read. Nick and Ellie's story is far from an easy one. Their journey is definitely worth the listen!!

I highly recommend this Audiobook to anyone looking for a deeper kind of listen that will hit you right in the heart. Be sure to grab a box of tissues before listening because you will shed some tears believe me. I hope that you enjoy this one as much as I did my fellow book lovers!! 4.5 Stars all around!! :)

What was one of the most memorable moments of After You?

There were a lot of moments that I loved but the Smurfette Friendship bracelet part and Ellie's Birthday were two of my absolute favorite moments. :)

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks – was your favorite?

Ellie!! Tracy Marks really did an excellent job with bringing Ellie's emotions to life with her voice and I felt as if I was listening to someone I knew, going through their battles with them, and it all brought tears to my eyes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Learning to live again is hard enough but trying to love again may be the hardest battle yet.
