Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn't know was that I was breaking mine too.

I thought they'd be enough - my husband and my son. That I'd get home and everything would go back to the way it was...before the war. Before the ambush. Before you. But, no matter how hard I try, I can't erase the trauma we shared. I can't seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours. The truth is, I'm lost without you.

I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I'd face at home.

Emotional roller coaster but LOVED IT!

Love the story. Enjoyed the writing. Narrators drew me in even more. My favorite audiobook & ebook for sure 💖 Thank you ladies for an amazing book 🙂

Not sure how I feel about this... it's well written and I get it, but I absolutely hate Katie and how everything pans out. I have nothing nice to say about her.

Puts things in perspective

I was not expecting this book to change my heart or mind towards the concept of letting someone go.

This is a powerful description of what it takes to truly love someone, to try, to morn, to grow and learn.

I cried, laughed, and cried some more! I would recommend this to anyone with a curiosity of what happens to humans who are traumatized - how hard it is to find yourself again, to decide to live.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

I flew through this book. I couldn't stop listening and cried through almost the entire thing. Such a great book!

Seriously the best book I've listened to!

I decided to try this book because I LOVE Aaron Shedlock and this book had great reviews. I was literally hooked from Chapter 1! It is so heart wrenching and made me cry and laugh so many times. Every time the perspective changed between Briggs and Gavin it had me changing my mind who I was routing for... You don't know until the very end who she will end up with. It does have graphic violence and one rape scene, so if you can't handle hearing about that or lots of violence while they are POW's then this may not be for you. The rape scene isn't super graphic thankfully and is NOT romanticized like in some books, but it is in there.

I found this book for free on Audible Plus, but I'd gladly use a credit on it and I will definitely listen to it again. I can't even put into words how amazing this book is! These are new authors for me and I'm diving right into more of their books to see if they're all this good!
