Publisher's Summary

I'm the first-born son of the mafia king. The favorite. Destined to rule, I'm a dangerous man, a ruthless one. But in my world, you have to be.

Then Natalie stumbles into my life. Wrong place. Wrong time.

Twice, fate put her in my path.

Twice, fate placed the innocent lamb at the mercy of the monster.

I gave her a chance to walk away. Told her it would be better for her if she did.

But she didn't listen.

And now it's too late.

Because I'm not good. I never wanted to be. And I won't let her go anymore. See, I'm not the hero. When I touch her, it's with dirty hands.

I know my reckoning is coming though. I know I'll burn for the things I've done, the sins I've committed. And I don't deny hell is where I belong, but I want my time first. I want my time with her.

She's mine.

Forever.

No matter what.

Author's Note: Sergio: A Dark Mafia Romance is an intensely emotional, steamy and dark standalone romance set in the Benedetti Brothers Mafia world. Be prepared: This is not a traditional romance.

Sergio needed his story told

While not chronologically the third book in the Benedetti series, this book is best listened to last. Sergio is the oldest of the Benedetti brothers and is readying himself to take his place as head of the family. When Natalie is in the wrong place at the wrong time, Sergio decided he will deal with her. This is far from a typical romantic meeting, but this is far from your typical romance.. Natasha Knight has let Sergio's story be told regardless of the outcome. The love between Natalie and Sergio is fierce. They are both flawed but perfect together. They both love with their whole heart. But love is not enough. This book will make you love, hate fear and cry. The warning let's you know it's not going to end happily, but the bittersweet story will stay with you, give you insight to the other family members and leave you with that lingering book hangover. I loved it! This story needs narrators who read with great emotion.. Natasha Knight could not have cast it better..Both Tracy Marks and Michael Pauley have that natural emotional tone to their voices. I could feel every pain, every anger and every growth of Sergio and Natalie's love. Their performance is truly flawless.

Mafia

The story was interesting and I think I would have enjoyed it better if I had read instead of listened to it. The cadence of the narrators voices made it hard for me to get immersed into the story

Broke my heart!

Sergio is still with me, says after finishing this story. I cried so much during the last few chapters, I had to go hide to finish it. I cried for hours afterward, it was just that heartbreaking for me. There are books that just get you so wrapped up in them, you can feel the devastation the characters feel, the utter heatbreak, as if it's your own. I felt Sergio's. And I felt Natalie's. This author, I hate her so much for writing this, so much that I absolutely love her! There is no happily ever after in this story. But as Natasha says in her letter to the reader, it would be an utter shame not to know Sergio, how beautiful he and his love story for Nat is. Heartbreaking beautiful. The Narrators were beautiful. They were just perfect, in every way!

I really enjoyed this book but the female narrator

I enjoyed this book overall but the female narrator seemed very robotic more than half the time. I had to work to get used to her rather choppy reading. The Male narrator was really good. This book is REALLY steamy!

Really amazing, even knowing how it was going to end. Story line was amazingly surprising.

Great story but poor female narrator

Tracy Mark's, the narrator for the female character, was not a good choice for this book. Her narration was very robotic, monotone with no inflection in tone. It made the story annoying to listen to if it weren't for Michael Pauley, the narrator for the male character. Michael's talented narration and sexy voice pretty much saved this story. Good storyline but bad choice for the female narrator.

Emotionally chargers audiobook

Finally! I was able to listen to a Natasha Knight book. I have wanted to read/listen to one of her books for so long but haven’t gotten to any of the tons she has. Well finally the stars all aligned and Sergio was mine! Yeah, I know that I just jumped right into the middle or end of a series but I’m ok with that. I’m not sure if I picked a lucky one or if all her books are written so well but I enjoyed Sergio so much! Sergio and Nathalie were vibrant and incredibly sexy together. I’m going to have to check out the other books now! This book held so much emotion and heart… I was honestly surprised. There was dual narration which is my favorite! I’m not sure I’ve heard Michael Pauley’s narration previously. However, I feel as if I should be on a first name basis with Tracy Marks. Her narrations are always so poignant, so full of emotions. Her partner, Michael Pauley was fantastic. His voice is so strong and masculine. Yet, he portrays emotions superbly! I’ll definitely be making room for this author a bit more!

An Ok Listen, but the "Hero" is an Abusive Jerk

I didn't mind listening to Sergio, the story was interesting but not too complicated. Michael Pauley does a fantastic job narrating Sergio. He has a very sexy and commanding voice and he is so expressive, you really feel that you are listening to Sergio. But I do have to say that while I enjoyed Sergio and most of Natasha Knight's other books, I often find myself cringing at the downright abusive scenes she writes about and tries to pass off as sexy, rough sex. I'm sorry, but when you are physically threatening a woman to lay spread eagled on a bed and forcing yourself into her while she resists and cries, that isn't sexy, that's actually rape. So many of the sex scenes Natasha Knight writes dance between consent and non-consent and it leaves a really disgusting taste in my mouth. There are also scenes where Sergio outright puts his hands on Natalie and I just listened, astonished that this is being passed off a sexy alpha-male behaviour. If I met a man who only displayed a fraction of Sergio's behaviour, I'd run for the damn hills! I'm rather taken aback by all the positive reviews screaming about how sexy this book is. Men can be powerful alpha-males and respectful at the same time. JR Ward portrays this kind of man very well in her early books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It just made me very uneasy how such abusive behaviour is being touted as "dark romance". That's just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.

Happy for Sergio...

I’m glad we got to hear Sergio’s story, but I absolutely hated the female narrator. Who speaks or reads like that. It was extremely distracting and annoying. But I’m glad after reading the entire series I was able to also get a glimpse of who Sergio was. It was a nice way to finish the trio.

All the Feels!

I'm crying! This book! OMG this book! Sergio is the Heir to the Benedetti mafia family. He has a dark destiny. Natalie has been at the wrong place at the wrong time more times than is normal. Both times Sergio has been her savior, but who will save her from him? His darkness? His life. For his life and hers if she is to join him would be a dangerous and dark one. This book contains dark scenes and steamy scenes. It also does NOT contain a HEA so read at your own risk.

An emotional mafia romance

Sergio is book 3 of the Benedetti Brothers series. It tells the love story of Sergio and Natalie. This book was released after Salvatore and Dominic (books 1 & 2), but it actually takes place 2-3 years before Salvatore. Sergio and Natalie initially meet when she is 14 y/o, but Sergio doesn’t remember meeting Natalie when their paths cross again 6 Years later. The relationship between Natalie and Sergio develops and becomes serious pretty quickly. Their story is told in dual POVs and the narrators do a great job of performing this powerful love story. Michael Pauley was especially intense when reading Sergio’s chapters. I did not read any of the other books in this series (yet), so I was surprised by the ending. This is one of those rare instances where I am glad I read a book out of order of its placement in the series because I had no clue how it would end. Sergio is an amazingly emotional and powerful book that is going to stay with me for a long time to come. #AudiobookObsession #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Highly emotional dark romance

Loved this highly emotional dark romance. Compelling and complex characters and an intense story. As the blurb says, not a normal romance, but still definitely worth listening to. Fantastic narrators! Two of my favorite narrators together bringing this fantastic story to life. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Something brave and different

I must say a big well done to Natasha, you are one very brave woman! This is nothing like what I’ve read/listened to before and I mush say I loved it. My heart is broken but I still loved it. Narration was perfect.

Nat

I have to say I did not believe when Ms. Knight wrote her opening letter telling us this was not your average HEA. She was correct. The ending gutted me. I enjoyed the flow of this story. She had me happy for the time Nat and Sergio was together. I really did want them to have the true HEA. But sometimes you don't always get that HEA. You just have moments and you should treasure those. I cannot wait to read the other two books in the series.

The best of Natasha knight's books yet..

The love story is endearing and Sergio such a believable dark yet loveable character. The heartbreak is heartfelt. I read this after collateral and damage so the ending took me by surprise.. but personally I think it's the best one yet. Looking forward to Salvatore and Dominic.. I'm on a roll!

Best Benedetti!!

Hell, this book is all that and then some. It draws you in with this once in a lifetime love. You know how it will end but are hoping the author flips the script. This book gets you for the danger, romance and violence and you are caught up in every word and then you are asking the author why, make it unhappen. A story that had to be told. Great Narration.

Intense!

Intense, powerful, dark, sexy; all these adjectives apply to this fantastic listen. Narrating a strong, heart stopping story, Michael Pauley and Tracey Marks are excellent as Sergio and Natalie, bringing both characters to life with great skill. This is an audio which lingers in your mind long after you have finished it!. All round 5, intense stars.
