Two years ago I wanted something I couldn't have, so I threw myself back into my job as an Army Ranger and wound up scarred in more ways than one. When the army dumps my sorry self back into the real world, it’s time to start over. I accept a summer job teaching high-risk search and rescue. On the way there, all I have to do is peek in on little Lucky Reed and make sure he’s okay.

He’s not. Someone has it out for him, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to let him get hurt on my watch. My plan is to keep him safe until he heads south for his summer job playing trail guide to tourists. Once he’s gone, I’ll be free to head to Glacier where my biggest challenge will be keeping a handful of alpine search and rescue students safe as they learn how to dangle from helicopters high above the Rocky Mountains.

It’s all fine. Until it’s not. Danger follows us to Glacier, and by the time I finally start seeing Lucky as more than the awkward teenager he used to be, I wonder if it’s too late to convince him that this scarred soldier sees him as anything but little anymore.

Oh Lucky!

I feel like I've been waiting just as long as Zack for him to grow up! And boy oh boy did he! Drunk Lucky might be my actual favorite thing ever! I love this series so much and each one just gets better! Dean definitely does it justice.

Worth the Wait

I was looking forward to this book and was NOT disappointed. Lucky is an old soul because of the struggles he started life with. When Zach stops pushing back and is finally seeing Lucky as an adult he struggles with letting him in. I loved that Lucky held his own and had enough conference in himself that he pushed back to keep himself in the program and prove he belongs there. The a-ha moment for Zach and the grand gesture to let Lucky knows his feelings was heart warming.

I really liked this one!

I really liked this one! It was nice to see how Lucky grew up and watch him come into his own. I also liked revisiting everyone from the first three books. While there was angst, it was usually resolved quickly; not a big fan of when it drags out or lots of time elapses. While Lost and Found is my favorite, this is a close second. I would like to see if Calvin finds his HEA.

Awesome series 💜

I really enjoyed this book. It was longer and really delved into the life of the two MC’s. The story just kept building and we got such well rounded characters. We still got to have the past characters in the series too....so good. These two authors can weave a story that just leaves you feeling so many emotions. Don’t miss this series!!!

This was one of my top stories that I love. Lucky and Zach, I love them and value their love... I love it!!!!

An angsty age gap opposites attract!

This was a sweet and sexy, age gap opposites attract, grab you by the feels romance.

Michael Dean's audio delivery and performance was absolutely stunning and entertaining.

Lucky was sweet and strong in his own way and am happy he stuck by Zack no matter what he threw at him.

Zack had his own demons to face before he truly let his walls down.
But giving up Lucky was never an option no matter how hard he tried.

This was an angsty listen and I loved every moment of it despite wanting to slap a few characters upside-down!

Overall an amazing addition to the series!

Lucky Lucky Lucky...

I loved Lucky. he was the best character out of all the entire series. The story was well written but Zach needed to gravel a bit more in my opinion.

But the most important thing about this book is the narrator. At this point I would buy any book that has them listed as the one reading it.

I loved this

Lucky and Zach were full-on relationship goals. Might have been a lot of pain and hard fought to get there, but oh... it was so worth it. Hands down my favorite of the series.

Review

I so enjoyed Above and Beyond and I am so glad that I purchased it. The narrator was excellent and more than accomplished the Herculean task of being the voices for these characters. I loved the storylines, and knew that this book would be great, whenever there is a Kennedy / Lennox pairing! I will be reading this again!
