Acerca de esta escucha

One New Year’s masquerade. One anonymous hookup. One billionaire-sized mistake.

Once upon a time, someone looked at my scrawny, impetuous eight-year-old self and nicknamed me Mr. Important… and I believed them.

That was my first mistake.

Two decades, a dozen failed careers, and a thousand meaningless hookups later, I’ve made more mistakes than I can count. My parents have decided I’m purely decorative, my brother thinks I need pep talks, and the gorgeous billionaire who hired me as a favor to my dad? He’s forgotten I exist.

So I’m done with mistakes.

Call it my New Year’s resolution. From now on, I’m going after what I want… starting with the mysterious silver fox in the Roman warrior mask who approached me at the charity gala and offered me a scorching, anonymous one-night stand.

Unfortunately, when our masks come off I realize mistakes are not done with me.

Because the bossy guy who blew my mind? He’d thought I was someone else. Worse than that, he’s my father’s friend. A supposedly-straight workaholic. The person I’m stuck on a road trip with for the next two weeks. And, oh yeah, my actual boss.

The farther we get from New York, the closer we become, and the harder it is to pretend I’m not falling for him. But I can’t see how someone as brilliant, controlled, and successful as Thatcher Pennington would risk everything to be with someone like me… even if he makes me feel like I’m finally Mr. Important.

Lucy Lennox and May Archer write beautiful stories. Firecracker was good. this one is even better. Michael Dean always does an outstanding job bringing these stories and all of the characters to life. his performance made this one even better. I can't wait to see what's next.👏🔥❤

I really like Thatcher and Reagan together. I love Reagan sass and snark as well as his insecurities. I also really like Thatcher's cluelessness at times. Thank goodness for McGeeand his willingness to clue Thatcher in. I really enjoyed McGee and Reagan's interactions as well. I look forward to more books in this series!

So good!!!

Very Good

I loved Thatcher, but Reagan was a little annoying where Thatcher was concerned. The entire story Reagan makes wildly inaccurate assumptions that Thatcher always corrects, but he never learns from it. There was no progression. I understand overthinking as much as anyone, but this was just willful ignorance. Reagan any other time was great. Even liked Reagan with Thatcher from Thatchers point of view, but being in Reagan’s head while in angst was a little rough.

Sweet story

Thus far I’m loving this series, with Mr. Important being my favorite. I liked Firecracker, but the storyline in Mr. Important resonated more with me. I loved Regan’s and Pennington’s characters and the progression of their relationship. However, I think the ending was a bit rushed, and should’ve been more flushed out after Pennington outed his relationship status. Meaning both MMCs’ new adjustments back at work, and sharing their joining with their families. The HEA was too fast and rushed.

Michael Dean’s performance was stellar.

Thoroughly Enjoyable.

This was an entertaining listen that kept me engaged enough that I finished it in one day 😎 These authors delivered!
Some of my favorite tropes, pretty low angst, plenty of drama, and a cast of characters that were interesting and not awful. This was all a big win for me as I have been disappointed in many recent listens.
🎧 Michael Dean narration was great as usual.

this was a fun listen ❤️

Sometimes what people do is not the best for the company, but sometimes it is best. But damaging the company on purpose and fighting everything others try to do to fix it is not a good management tactic, especially if it hurts others that are doing good.

Skills and abilities are more important than age and experience
